EAD / AP card received June 1st 2016 :dancing::goofy::luv:

For those interested in processing times - ours hopefully can be used as a 'not very quick' scenario for what was a completely smooth process with no hitches and no RFEs... but a long wait. However, we assumed up to 90 days from start to finish, before we started the process - and that is just what happened.

Total of 53 days from filing until approval...

Total of 89 days from filing to getting the card...

So, that is 36 days from approval to actually holding the card in my hand.

It seems there was a glitch after the card was ordered the first time - and once they worked out the issues they ordered it again.

Right - time to get a job ;)

Looks like the RFIE Ireceived did slow down my progress. Have it the approval mark but nothing since then. In fact they reopened the I-765 a day after it was approved. No online update but fun receive an email to that affect.

Guessing I will be one if the slowest March filers I think.

Don't worry, haha. I'm still dreading an RFE for medical, and my AOS had absolutely no updates and seems not to have been touched since it was accepted.

I called on May 26 to be told it was already made, the day before. Which seems to be the truth of the matter. So it seems they just remade it about a month after the first time it was ordered / made / wonky / whatevers...

My EAD status has been stuck on "New card is being produced" since May 14. I just called USCIS and was told that even though the instructions for EAD say you should wait for 30 days after "card is being produced" to enquire about your case, USCIS now tells applicants to wait 60 days.

I did receive my approval notice for AP on May 24.

So it's been 19 days since my card is being produced and I should wait another 41 days to even be allowed to enquire about my case?! That's 115 days from submitting the petition! Quite a bit longer than 90 days...

Has anyone had similar experience?

So I got on the line with tier 2 again yesterday because it's been three weeks since request for service due to never getting the ead card that was approved 4/28 was closed and a notice was sent. Which I never got. Thi s guy gave me a totally different story. Card was produced on 4/28 but did not print out the biometrics. Never sent for a second production. He will put in a request which will be completed in about 60!!!!days!!! If the biometric doesn't print this time production will be cancelled and start all over with new date for biometrics. What the hell! I asked if it could be expedited and he said no because it was all ready approved. I asked if they could just send the approval with the ead number so he can apply for ssn or driver license. Nope. I am so frustrated. I called congressmen and they said they would open a case a week ago. Nothing. Grrrt

  • Married 2/9/2016

  • NOA 1 received 3/08/2016
  • Hard copies of NOA received 3/20/16
  • Early walk in Biometrics at Holtsville, NY 4/11/16
  • Ead/AP approved 4/28/16...received 6/10/16
  • Interview date 12/20/16 at Holtsville, NY... initially denied but approved later same day.
  • Text received that green card was mailed.

So sorry to hear this, sounds awful! Fingers crossed that the congressman can get it sorted out. If I were you, I would probably try and call back again and talk to another tier 2 as the information you are getting is very conflicting and maybe a more helpful person can actually do something about it.... USCIS does have some ridiculous processes that a competitive business could never pull off.

I think yours will be sent faster. All of us whose EAD got approved last week of April are the unfortunate ones, that was the period the machines apparently malfunctioned. They just put us all aside and went ahead on printing the newly approved ones when the machine got fixed.

April 11 - Biometrics at Buena Park

May 6 - received hardcopy of I-131 approval dated May 2

Because in someone's eyes that makes perfect sense. Do we expect anything less? Fine if you don't want to slow anyone ers down but they can't "catch up" abd run the machine for a few more hours in the day to halt any backlog.

You'd think its in thru interest to ultimately stop people calling in asking them about the card production delays. It would save them resource into having to handle the enquiries!

Alas I'm not even at the card production phase yet!

I was going to say surely they should have gotten to your cards first?? That's unfair. I mean I am happy mine will come out soonish, but I don't think thats fair at all for all of the other filers. They should have gone about their error by getting to all the ones who got back-logged BEFORE even getting to anyone else.
