Our package just got to the Lockbox today. So maybe in about 12 days or so we should get text with NOA. I am just relieved that it is sent. It is definitely better waiting this time around because I am with my husband.

MiNMiLove, yes, I sent out the package a week ago on March 8 (see my signature). We received the text and email notifications that the package had been received and routed to the National Benefits Center. Still waiting for the paper NOA. Hopefully, we'll be able to track the case through the USCIS website by then (still no record in the system when I try).

How about you? Is your case showing up when you enter it into the USCIS case tracker?

I was just reading through here to see if you had received anything. I wouldn't go crazy yet (I know easier said than done). I did notice one or two people who had filed after me and received notices first.

Congratulations! and now I officially think there is a problem with mine, it is so weird I got nothing yet or there is no logic in the way they process packets when they receive them...This is making me so frustrated...

Our NOA numbers have now been updated on the USCIS site.

In case anyone who is still waiting is wondering. our Notice Date on the hard copies is 3/10/2016 (which is the same day we received the email and text) and we received the hard copies on 3/14/2016, although I believe it was actually delivered on Saturday the 12th but I didn't check the mail that day. So it took almost a week from email/text to be able to check case numbers.

Got the AOS/EAD package sent out on 3/10 and have now joined the waiting game with you all. :) Expecting a text/email notification ANY TIME NOW.

The waiting is definitely less stressful this time though - since I am with my sweetheart.

My mind keeps going through all the mistakes I may have made in filling out/assembling the packet. (i.e. N/A vs. None vs. blank space & 2 photos or 4!) But, honestly, I'm so happy to have gotten the thing out. If I get an RFE, so be it.

I look forward to hearing how it goes for everyone.

The Emails that I received said at the bottom to wait until you receive hard copies of the receipt notice or 7-10 days to check the case status. So I think it is normal not to work and some people just get lucky. Is it possible that it coorelates with whether you are active in the system or not? As if you already had a case when applying for your VISA? My spouse has no active case because he came here on a tourist VISA. So we filed the I130 and I485 concurrently starting a brand new case.

I am doing the same thing! I may have developed OCD filling the forms out. Especially on the ones that did not allow me to type in some of the answers so I could not write none. If you can actually figure out what all the questions mean and get through it all without cracking you should be granted automatic citizenship as a prize lol.

I honestly don't think that it has anything to do with if you are in the system. My husband is active DACA and his didn't show up until 2 days (possibly 4) after receipt hardcopy arrived.

For his first Advance Parole, last year, we could check the status as soon as we got the email notification, and same for his DACA renewal last year. But the I-130 we filed 2 years ago didn't update until after the receipt notice was received, and that is true for his first DACA in 2012.

Hi all,

We sent our AOS and i-765 on 11th and it arrived on the 14th! Currently waiting for NOA1.

I have a question, I hope someone can help me? I was told my a lawyer that I would not be able to get SSN until I have a status (so until I receive green card or EAD whichever comes first) which was extremely depressing because I can't even get my driver's license so I'm currently stuck at home!

I see that a lot of you have applied for SSN after marriage. How do you go about doing so and are you allowed even though you technically don't have a status until your green card or EAD comes?

Thank you so much in advance!

I believe it all depends on what social security field office you go to. After we got our marriage license back (about 3 weeks after arrival) we applied for my name change and my husbands ss# and we had no issues. The guy was great. Yesterday I had a friend get her Fiancé's ss# application refused because he didn't have work authorization yet. Well, neither does my husband. She even showed the printed papers that say K-1's are eligible for a social security #.

Oh I see, so, your husband applied with a K1 status. Doesn't that mean that the SSN will expire on the 3 months when his K1 expires? Wouldn't he have to get another SSN once he gets his green card?

Also, you applied by going into the SS office itself rather than mailing the form?

Thank you :)

No, this will be his # for life. Doesn't expire. Must apply for ss# at least 2 weeks before the I-94 expires though or wait until EAD/GC. And yes, we went into the office. I believe you must go in for original, but don't quote me on that. LoL.

MiNMiLove is correct. For the first application for a SS # you are required to go into the SS office.
