Good morning ! I have a quick question. for I 485 status still says that as April 13th my case is ready to be scheduled for interview . Do you know by any chance how long takes to get the appointment letter for the interview in the mail?

Hey there, I'm in a similar situation. "Ready for interview" since April 18 and still no interview letter. :crying:

How did you get through to a tier 2? I might have to call next week and I'm not sure how to go about it. Should I wait for a person to get on the phone, and then ask for a tier 2 right away? Thanks!

I just called and spoke to a tier 1 - told them the issue - they immediately said they could not get any more information and connected me to the tier 2 callback line - I didn't even need to ask - I was at 80 days from submission and 30 days from approval.

UPDATE... Spoke to a tier 2 at USCIS... no date scheduled for GC interview yet... but was told that EAD card was physically actually really genuinely MADE yesterday - and should be with me any day now.

YAY!!!

Today is 30 days from approval of application... and noting that the email from USCIS says "You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application." I do believe it is time to stalk the mailman with even greater fervour and intensity.

(FYI - took 3 hours for USCIS to call back)

Good News!!!

that gives us hope too...maybe ours also was in the same batch as yours and was "really genuinely made yesterday" hahah :)

Mine says "As of April 20, 2016, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status for an interview"

I just spoke to a tier 2 at USCIS and they have not scheduled the interview yet.

I note on my USCIS checker it also says "We will issue our decision and mail it to you" - so am still hopeful we will get approval without interview

Thank you for both of your replies! I am going to wait another week before calling - but as it stands, neither my EAD or my GC have been approved yet :( I seem to be the only moron that didn't apply for a SSN because I was unaware of the time frames. I suppose my own ignorance is coming to bite me, but I really hope this does not delay the process.

Does anyone know if your SSN is given to you on the day, but the paperwork takes 2 weeks to come through? I have heard mixed reviews but now I am stuck over here with no bank account having to use my UK account, no drivers license so I'm stuck in my apartment, and unable to work :( It is so frustrating and I am certainly going crazy!

ALSO does anyone have any tips for getting a US drivers license? I do not have a UK drivers license as I have not yet learnt how to drive.

I went to school in Florida, driving tests are cake walks unlike Cali and Washington so you shouldn't be in any trouble. However, I am assuming you can get a learners permit and start learning how to drive take classes I mean. You won't be paying much say session wise but at least its taking a step somewhere rather than those walks to the mail box. :)

I doubt you can get your SSN on the very same day....there are lot of processes that go on so I highly doubt you would get your SSN on the very same day.

I just keep getting more frustrated. I have a Step daughter who came her years ago with her mom who abandoned her with friends and let her green card expire 4 years ago. She lives with us now. I filed to have it renewed and fixed the same day I filed husbands Aos. When I did her biometrics they said it would not be touched until at least November. But no worries she would be fine. Even gave her a sticker on old green card. Got email alerts every single step of the way. Yesterday got the approved message. Ten minutes later card produced. Ten minutes later mailed. Tracking number late that night and this afternoon it was delivered by mail. Came home and lo and behold there it was in the box. Seems like the way things should work. Yet here I am with husbands approval now officially a month old. And nothing. Forget old ladies with Commodores. Pretty sure the person responsible for my card is a heroin addict who has sold my card on the black market for drigs?

Give USCIS a call. We have a similar timeline. My approval was 30 days ago. They told me my card was actually produced yesterday.

Just called tier 2 again.

They said there was a problem printing the biometrics during the card production. Not completely sure what that means, but what i understand is they couldn't print my fingerprint.. They're going to try again now.

I'll receive an email in 5 days to see if they're able to fix it.
