Thank you for both of your replies! I am going to wait another week before calling - but as it stands, neither my EAD or my GC have been approved yet :( I seem to be the only moron that didn't apply for a SSN because I was unaware of the time frames. I suppose my own ignorance is coming to bite me, but I really hope this does not delay the process.

Does anyone know if your SSN is given to you on the day, but the paperwork takes 2 weeks to come through? I have heard mixed reviews but now I am stuck over here with no bank account having to use my UK account, no drivers license so I'm stuck in my apartment, and unable to work :( It is so frustrating and I am certainly going crazy!

ALSO does anyone have any tips for getting a US drivers license? I do not have a UK drivers license as I have not yet learnt how to drive.

I didn't apply SSN too. We supposed to apply two weeks before I-94 expires. Otherwise we have to wait until we get EAD or GC. I'm still waiting for my EAD as well.

Can you point me out where I can find these timeframes so I can keep track on my side and annoys the uscis when the time comes? Thank you!

Since we're almost a month after i received the approval notice, i've put in a service request to why my card hasn't been produced/mailed yet. Talked to a tier 1 officer, very friendly lady, who helped me with that.

Let's hope it speeds things up :)

hello,

Can i ask you a fvaor? in your case tracker, on the Next Steps - does it also say the same thing as mine?

You can go to this website, enter your receipt numbers and it will tell you when they received your cases. Your receipt numbers can be found on your NOA's.

You can also download the uscis case tracker app on your phone. it would be much handy and convenient that way.

hmmm..can't say your unlucky because even us with updates are even more irritated and confused. I did the case inquiry earlier and got a quick response, saying my hubby's card is not even being produced, wth?

If you're gonna call, you have to speak to a tier 2 agent tho, because the tier 1's won't be of much help.

I'm also from western mass, I'm keeping an eye on your timeline, hope things start moving fast for you.

What did you think of biometrics? How was it? Thanks and good luck.

Hi! I did biometrics in Hartford and it was pretty fast -- probably 30 minutes total. I did go about 20 minutes before my scheduled time, and that was smart because it was half empty when I got there. 20 minutes later (at exactly my appointment time), the place suddenly got really crowded. I was already on the way out, luckily. So get there early! And best of luck with the rest of the process... I'll keep you posted on my updates as they come.
