I'm still waiting for an update I keep harassing my congressman haha I have a job offer I was meant to start working on April 25th luckily they are happy to wait but it's so frustrating!! We got a text last Thursday telling us our aos had been updated only to find the same message online since they received my rfe, which I only found out about because the congressman told me lol AP and EAD still says received 03/15

Need assistance,On form i864 part 5 under person not sponsored in this affidavit...3.IF U ARE CURRENTLY MARRIED ENTER 1 FOR YOUR SPOUSE?? should i enter 1 or live it blank since my spouse is the one sponsoring me?

You leave it blank, just put in a 1 for yourself and the number from part 3, item 28

Just had my biometric done....early walk in appointment was scheduled next week....this is probably the easiest part in the whole AOS saga....Hopefully next things move faster and no RFE :clock::clock: ....

25th March'2016- Sent out the application via UPS to Chicago.

29th March'2016- Package received. (day1)

4th April'2016- Received 4 Text SMSs and 4 E-mails from the USCIS notifying my case has been received and routed to National Benefits Center for Processing. (day 6)

5th April'2016- Checks have been cashed. (day 7)

7th April'2016- NOA received in mail . (day 9)

2nd May'2016- Received Biometric Appointment Letter(day 33)

5th May'2016- Walked In 8;30am for early Biometric Appointment( In and out in 12 minutes)(day 36)

12th May'2016- Biometric Appointment Schedule

24th May'2016- Received RFE for Form I864( Tax Returns, Pay Stubs)(day 55)

26th May'2016- Sent out the evidence for RFE (day 57)

1st June'2016- Received notification that the RFE package was received. Case status website updated (day 56)

2nd June'2016- Put in a request for Change in Address for all the 4 applications. Received Confirmation mail the same day(day 57)

6th June'2016- Address change request was completed.(day 61)

11th June'2016- Letter of Address change confirmation was received. (day 66)

23rd June'2016- Called USCIS asked to spoke a Tier 2 officer was called back on the third attempt after 8 hours and spoke about confirmation of address change. (day 78)

24th June'2016- Status change for EAD only "New Card is being produced" (day 79)

29th June'2016- Card was mailed to me at the mentioned date(day 84)

2nd July'2016- Card received in mail (day 87)

9th August'2016- Interview scheduled for September 13th(day 125)

16th August'2016- Interview cancelled.(day 132)

13th September'2016- Attended the interview and was told my file wasn't available at the local office. (Day 163 )

29th October'2016- Rescheduled the interview for December 1st. (Day 209)

1st December'2016- Judgement Day RELOADED!(Day241)

2nd December'2016- New card is being produced!(Day 242)

6th December'2016- STATUS CHANGED TO NEW CARD HAS BEEN MAILED. (Day 246)

8th December'2016- Received USPS tracking code to track my GC. Scheduled for delivery on 14th December'16.

Thanks a lot,Did u get a tracking code from the post office when u sent your mail back to them?

Our lawyer handles all of that, I have no clue if she uses tracked mail for things or not.

1)First Master Calendar Hearing: Sept. 9, 2015-Continued based on pending i-130, new court date in 6mo.

Congressional Inquiry: Dec 8. 2015

I have been "Out of status" for about 10 days after my K1 visa expired and I applied for AOS.

Now I have Advance Parole approved and I would like to visit my family in a few weeks. But I'm worried that those 10 days would be a problem. It's not an emergency but I would really like to go back to see them.

What would you do?

Your K-1 visa expired when you came to US @POE. I-94 is good for I believe 90days, which is what starts upon US entry. You should be fine with your AP. You have AP and valid passport- dont stay away for too long and you will be fine.

The k visa becomes void when you enter the USA. You're fine with your AP and passport :)

Giuliana, I personally have decided to stay on the safe side and only use AP in case of emergency.

But from what I have seen in forums...

I have heard mixed opinions about it, that it is up to the POE officer and that the AP does not guarantee entry into the country (just as any other visa). There are reports about going through POE with no problems at all, several others going through "secondary processing" in a separate room (which takes longer, so probably better to avoid short connections), and some recommendations from VJers' attorneys about using AP strictly for emergency purpose. But the bottom line from my understanding is that it is up to the POE officer.

From my research, one thing that caught my attention is the name change. So if you decide to go visit your family, I would say make sure to match names in boarding pass and passport and also take your marriage certificate with you. This discussion might interest you:

Hi all,

I had my biometrics appt April 22nd but I haven't heard anything since - is this normal or looking like bad news (RFE?) - The only thing they might send an RFE for is.. basically London messed up my medical and didn't notice that I had two shot books so in the results they listed that I had only one MMR jab done when in fact I have had both. I sent off the results anyway in hopes that they'd accept the "one" shot.. but I have my medical book prepared to argue that I shouldn't have to pay $600 to get a new medical done when the fault wasn't mine - I gave the doctors all of my medical books to review.

Anyway - yes, I haven't heard anything since my bio and my status update is still showing that they received my cases March 25th & 29th.

Also, can I apply for my SSN whenever? I was told that I couldn't apply until I have my EAD which seems a bit silly?

My biometrics appointment was on April 27th and I haven't heard anything yet, either. In fact looking at the tracker app/uscis website, it still says that my case was received....doesn't appear to have been touched since April 2. It's all a big waiting game :/ Hang in there.

My appointment was on April 18... no updates since then. Seems like EAD approval takes at least 1-2 months. Lately every day feels like a whole YEAR! The GC should come with an award for patience.

4/1: hard copy NOAs

4/8: bio appointment letter

4/18: biometrics completed

5/11: status update, "ready to be scheduled for interview"

I know it!! I keep stalking around on the February filers forum, to see how quickly people are getting the EAD. I can wait for the GC, I just want to be able to work!! We all deserve a patience medal :goofy:
