Just got my biometric appointment letter- :goofy::goofy: .... I going to the mailbox for 25 straight days didn't help...So i sent my wife today and it worked lol......

Also an update from the April AOS Filers- Apparently USCIS system is down and so most changes in status are not being made....Mine for that matter is still on the fact that they "Received my case"....

25th March'2016- Sent out the application via UPS to Chicago.

29th March'2016- Package received. (day1)

4th April'2016- Received 4 Text SMSs and 4 E-mails from the USCIS notifying my case has been received and routed to National Benefits Center for Processing. (day 6)

5th April'2016- Checks have been cashed. (day 7)

7th April'2016- NOA received in mail . (day 9)

2nd May'2016- Received Biometric Appointment Letter(day 33)

5th May'2016- Walked In 8;30am for early Biometric Appointment( In and out in 12 minutes)(day 36)

12th May'2016- Biometric Appointment Schedule

24th May'2016- Received RFE for Form I864( Tax Returns, Pay Stubs)(day 55)

26th May'2016- Sent out the evidence for RFE (day 57)

1st June'2016- Received notification that the RFE package was received. Case status website updated (day 56)

2nd June'2016- Put in a request for Change in Address for all the 4 applications. Received Confirmation mail the same day(day 57)

6th June'2016- Address change request was completed.(day 61)

11th June'2016- Letter of Address change confirmation was received. (day 66)

23rd June'2016- Called USCIS asked to spoke a Tier 2 officer was called back on the third attempt after 8 hours and spoke about confirmation of address change. (day 78)

24th June'2016- Status change for EAD only "New Card is being produced" (day 79)

29th June'2016- Card was mailed to me at the mentioned date(day 84)

2nd July'2016- Card received in mail (day 87)

9th August'2016- Interview scheduled for September 13th(day 125)

16th August'2016- Interview cancelled.(day 132)

13th September'2016- Attended the interview and was told my file wasn't available at the local office. (Day 163 )

29th October'2016- Rescheduled the interview for December 1st. (Day 209)

1st December'2016- Judgement Day RELOADED!(Day241)

2nd December'2016- New card is being produced!(Day 242)

6th December'2016- STATUS CHANGED TO NEW CARD HAS BEEN MAILED. (Day 246)

8th December'2016- Received USPS tracking code to track my GC. Scheduled for delivery on 14th December'16.

My attorney told me that the majority of her AOS cases are taking between 4 to 5 months. Such a long wait. ?

Actually that's a good wait. About two years age it was taking around 11-14mo. Trust me 5mo is nothing.

Update: got an RFE in mail today regarding my joint sponsor. It will be really nice if someone can answer some questions for me.

1. It says my joint sponsor don't meet the requirements of 125%, so i am thinking to add/submit a different joint sponsor. In that case on the i864 form do my new sponsor need to select the himself as the only joint sponsor or second joint sponsor, As i am not sending the required documents they asked for my previous joint sponsor.

You should send in a whole new i864 packet and select only sponsor. Are you using a lawyer? If so they will send a cover letter explaining. If not, you may want to type your own cover letter that simply explains you're using a new sponsor who meets guidelines. Not a big deal at all.

No i am not using a lawyer. And thanks for ur suggestions,i will do that. Hopefully i can send it back soon.

I'm trying to do the same and it's definitely helping. The problematic part though is most of the jobs where you have to apply online require you to answer the question "Are you authorized to work for any employer in the US?" and when I say no to that, I'm pretty sure my application just goes to the trash bin :'(

I have been answering yes, I am authorized to work. My opinion is that I have done everything I could to get the EAD and it will be a matter of weeks or days until I have it in hands. I am sure that if it is the right fit and a good company, they will see you as a valuable asset and know that you are worth waiting for. Of course I let them know about this condition at the interview, but if I tell them immediately at first online application, I wouldn't get a chance to interview and prove to them that I am that great candidate they are looking for. Plus, waiting on the government to process your file is something that almost everybody can relate to.

Instead of seeing the glass half empty, try "selling" it as:

- you are being proactive

- you want to make the best use of this waiting time (instead of just sit at home and wait)

- you are giving time to yourself and the company to go through the entire hiring process (which can take several weeks)

- you are actively networking

- you are improving your skills

So when you receive the EAD, you are ready to go!!

Hi all,

I had my biometrics appt April 22nd but I haven't heard anything since - is this normal or looking like bad news (RFE?) - The only thing they might send an RFE for is.. basically London messed up my medical and didn't notice that I had two shot books so in the results they listed that I had only one MMR jab done when in fact I have had both. I sent off the results anyway in hopes that they'd accept the "one" shot.. but I have my medical book prepared to argue that I shouldn't have to pay $600 to get a new medical done when the fault wasn't mine - I gave the doctors all of my medical books to review.

Anyway - yes, I haven't heard anything since my bio and my status update is still showing that they received my cases March 25th & 29th.

Also, can I apply for my SSN whenever? I was told that I couldn't apply until I have my EAD which seems a bit silly?

I don't have any changes either, and I have had my biometrics etc earlier than you. Don't worry, they will get to you!

And you can apply for SSN before EAD, as long as your I-94 isn't expired yet. I applied about 2 weeks after entering, and changed my name with my marriage certificate after. Once your I-94 expires, you will have to wait before the EAD (since you technically are overstaying at that moment)

I filed a service request on Monday for biometrics cause since I got my NOA1 on April 1st I haven't received anything..so hopefully something will happen soon, my fiance is getting frustrated with not being able to get a license or even work

My timeline is about 10 days ahead of you and we got ead and ap approval by mail only on Monday. Online/phone/app all still say last update 3/21. We received your apps and sent you a notice In the mail. The update system sucks and you should not rely on it at all. We sent 4 1145's and only got the initial

We got it don't bother us we will contact you when we are damn well ready to texts/emails.

I filed Feb 26th and got my EAD/AP approval notice on the 30th. Still waiting for the actual card though.

And for the 1145's, I think thats only meant for the receipt notice of the whole AOS package.

Well it has been exactly 7 days since our lawyer sent off the RFE response. No updates if it has been received yet, but I know it takes about 5-6 days to arrive to Missouri from where we are via post.

Good news is my husband got a driver license using his NOA1 and expired i94 plus ssn. Small victories!
