Hi everyone! We filed March 18th and they received our applications on the 21st. My husband did his biometrics on April 21. The travel and work have not updated since they were received, but we did get an RFE for not meeting 125% on the I-864. I do make enough, but just barely. I'm over by a few hundred dollars of the 125% for 3 in our household (my daughter included). My questions: Should I send in more detailed information of my income, (bank statements, deposit history, etc.) or not chance it and just go with a joint sponsor? We're really wanting to be able to do it ourselves, as not to inconvenience anybody, but we will if we have to. If we go with a joint sponsor, what info should we give them about how long they will have to be a sponsor? I believe I read that it's until the person they're sponsoring becomes naturalized, which can take 2-3 years. True?

Also, I thought this would be a good opportunity to show proof of relationship by sending in pictures, both names on our lease, insurance cards, etc., along with the RFE response, just for the added cherry on top. I know it's not needed now but anything to get the process go smoother and faster. Thoughts?

I'm not sure about the finance aspect but do not send in more information than they are asking for with your RFE. They just want what they are asking for! The more paperwork they have to go through the worse it is!

Hope it all goes well at the appointment. Then onto the next phase of waiting!

It's such a shame but this year has not been a good one for some untimely famous deaths :-(

My biometrics appointment went smoothly today, was in and out of there in 15 minutes, there was hardly anyone there, and the officials were super friendly, even joking around etc which I didn't expect. So, now we wait!!

Celebrity deaths have been awful this year :( First Bowie, now Prince...such a shame.

Quick question for anyone who may have had this issue...

As I mentioned earlier, my case hasn't moved since 4/2. The message that I get on the tracker for all 3 applications is

" On April 2, 2016 we updated your name for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number EACXXXXXXXXXX"

Is This a common message? It has said this since my package was received. I also have never had, or requested a name change or update??

*I'm not a lawyer, so my advice should be taken with a grain of salt!* Buuuut, if I were in your shoes, I would definitely go for the joint sponsor. I was considering doing that with my petition, just in case, even though my husband and I exceed the 125% on our own. If you have a person willing to act as your joint sponsor, I say go for it! If you're financially self-sufficient they will never have to actually support you.

And I wouldn't send any extra paperwork with the RFE. Best to keep it simple and just send what they want right now.

I made an account with USCIS and activated both email and text. I know a lot of people go with the apps to get account updates, however, with the USCIS account I actually got the notifications of status change about 8 hours before my app notified me about them. Definitely recommend signing up with an account for USCIS.

It seems that things move pretty quickly for people adjusting from K1... is this really the case, or am I just being impatient? ha.
