AOS March 2016 Filers

Hello everyone!

As promised, here is my update. Today, my I-131 updated to the following status:

"Advance Parole Document Was Produced

On April 19, 2016, we produced your Advance Parole Document for your Form I-131, Application For USCIS Travel Document, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXXXX."

So, I think I should have one more update where it tells me that it's in the mail!

That is Gorgeous!! It is nice to hear at least someone's case moving forward...wishes to everyone else and hopefully this is the first of many for each one of us!! :)

Hi all,

I thought I'd participate in this thread, it's nice to know other people are in this with you. We filed for AOS on 7th April and our checks were cashed yesterday (19th April). Super excited that things are moving along. I don't think we registered to received a text/email receipt but I'm hoping to get the NOA1 in the next few days.

How long do you all think this process will take? My sisters wedding is in October and I have to leave the country for that!!!

I thought I'd participate in this thread, it's nice to know other people are in this with you. We filed for AOS on 7th April and our checks were cashed yesterday (19th April). Super excited that things are moving along. I don't think we registered to received a text/email receipt but I'm hoping to get the NOA1 in the next few days.

How long do you all think this process will take? My sisters wedding is in October and I have to leave the country for that!!!

It's hard to know. if you filed for an AP you'll get that within 90 days or so. I have been watching the AOS February thread and there's about half a dozen people that have already received their greencards...so you just never know

Emergency AP...probably not. Regular AP is used if people want to travel outside the US before having the GC in hand...sometimes people have waited a year or more for that silly thing (it's not even green lol)!

Turn that frown upside-down! You can still apply for that. Just fill out the form and send a copy of your AOS NOA1 to prove that you have a case pending. From what I understand (because I spend all day creeping around on here) there's no extra cost. You can also send in the EAP (authorization to work) in the same way

I think you'll get something before October. Depending on the speed of your office. I'm a late February filer and I already have an interview date. Most ppl back in February have already received either the green card or ap/ead approval or card like the previous poster said. Fill in your timeline...you normally get an estimation for ap/ead on there.most people I've seen get their's the week before the predicted estimation. Good luck to you. Cool, thanks for letting me know. I completed as much as I could for the timeline but we haven't received our NOA1 yet so we have very little information - I don't think it can predict anything for us just yet.

I received my NOA1 paper notice on April 4th..I've been checking my mailbox 2x a day for biometric appt letter ND still nothing. I'm getting paranoid that option might have been sent and the mailman put it in the wrong mail box since we live in an apartment ND my NOA1 was left on my front door by an unknown person instead of in my mailbox

If you don't get ur bio letter in 45 days make sure you call USCIS , if you call sooner they will tell u the same

You can track other VJ user's history and average to have an idea how long it will take. It depends on your local office.

If I were in your situation and not likely to have a GC in hands (in fact I am expecting mine about 1 year from now), I would apply for an AP document. Otherwise, if you leave the country while your AOS application is pending, it will be considered as abandoned and you will have to start all over, pay more fees and so on. You will have no problems to leave the country, but to re-enter. The AP document takes about 3 months, so it is a good thing you still have plenty of time to plan it. Good luck!

Thanks for that info - based on the visajourney stats I might be in luck to make the wedding!! Unfortunately we can't apply for AP because I entered on a tourist visa...
