Help!! So it turns out I made a mistake on the checks and wrote the wrong date :( so my whole package was returned.

I have a couple of questions:

1) Do I leave the package as I received it? Or do I have to re-arrange it?

2) the documents have numbers at the bottom by USCiS, should I reprint all and send new forms?

Thank you! I want to re-send ASAP! Thanks all.

We have not received our Biometrics notification yet and we filed on 2/26/16 and got our hard copy NOA1 on 3/14/16. Starting to worry as many of ya'll have already received your notice. We have an MSC number so we are at the National Benefits Center. Also our cases cannot be found online. :/

My apology for the duplicate quoting above by mistake.

I also filed on Feb 26, Received date is Feb 29, and I received NOA 1 in the mail on around March 14.

I have not received Biometric appointment letter. All my 3 receipt numbers are not showing up online.

I called to talk to a tier 2 officer but at the time of the phone call, he said the main system was down and unavailable to track cases, so I didn't get any information.

I don't know how right I am but without trying to make it more confusing, I understand that you are in your last semester at school right...Well if your I20 is about to expire the best you can do is to apply for an OPT that way your I20 would be revised to the date of your OPT EAD Card expiry date which is around 18 months from the date of receiving the card. Just to be on the safer side, however even though your status as a student legally expires the fact that you AOS is still in process(AND HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED OR REJECTED) gives you legal authorization to live in the United States until a decision is made on your case. And if you have applied for an EAD with your AOS will give you the legal authorization to accept employment and Advance Parole a chance to travel if you have the necessary proves to support both these applications.

I hope I explained that well enough, again its subjective so read around and see what suits your situation best.

Amit :)

I called USCIS and they told me exactly what you said in here. I just did not want to waste my time and money applying for OPT given that I already applied for AOS :)

Thanks Amit.

BBLB,

I guess it is comforting to know we are both not alone.. Hopefully we both receive our Biometrics notice soon!

Sorry, stalking the March thread......DONT WAIT TO CALL USCIS AND ASK!

We waited over a month for the Biometrics and we're now 4+months and no news on EAD or AP. Call USCIS right now and get a ticket going. They took a few weeks to get back to us. Details are in my signature line.

Jdwrentm and Steve and Ash,

Thanks for your input.

I just submitted an online enquiry about biometric appointment letter. The website gave me an estimated reply time by April 26.

I also called again and the customer representative suggested that I call back when 30 days has past since the date of NOA 1 text messages. So I'll call USCIS back on April 8.

Good bless us!

'Suuuup everyone! Our (well...his) biometrics appointment was yesterday and went like this: 3 hour drive across the state from Bismarck to Fargo. Went to the giant federal building and was led to the tiniest and emptiest of all the rooms. The one employee that was there was very pleasant and friendly. I quipped that "there must not be many immigrations cases in ND" to which she chuckled and said "nope"

A very pleasant person. I always have in my mind that gov't employees are cranky and crabby.

SO she had him fill out a form that asks for height, weight etc. Then she took all of his fingerprints and then took his picture. All in about 10 minutes.

.............a 3 hour drive....................for ten minutes............................uffdah. I'm just glad we got this step done. Hoping we'll be part of the lucky ones that don't have to interview which would be in Minneapolis which is a 6-7 hour drive. yuk!
