Yes, the mental waiting game is THE WORST. We received the paper response to our service request from 11/15 (that's why we didn't receive an email). It says the same thing as the service request we made in October, that our local service center is experiencing a high workload and our case processing will be delayed.

We're getting close to the holidays and my husband and I are going to visit his family in Taiwan. I'm going to try not to think about this until after we return in January. It's just not worth it, because it's going to take as long as it takes. I can't argue with USCIS anymore when they tell me that cases are processed in the order they are received and I have evidence from this very site that seven other couples in Minneapolis who filed after us have already received their GCs.

It's. Just. Not. Worth. It.

Also, I second your question--where is daveyjoe?? He's been absent for awhile; I need more of his dark humor!!

Enjoy your holiday! We are actually thinking of having a small get away for the sole purpose of having a mental health break. Checking the mailbox actually angers me these days so yea.

Green Card interview was today... We had alllll the documentation they had asked for and a ton of photos from throughout the year. We had also spent a little time making sure our memories and dates etc. were well matched and that we had the names of our families clear in our heads etc etc. A few days of work to get all that sorted. And as it turned out it wasn't needed in our case...

Green Card interview took about 10 minutes. Lovely guy. Just swore us in. Checked our details. Asked if we had jobs and what they were. Took a quick look at three statements (water, gas, bank) and handed them straight back. Asked the usual stuff about being arrested, smuggling etc. Told us the K1 was the real hurdle and that he was just here to spot anything weird and we were quite obviously genuine and not terrorists. Signed the form. Green Card done. Much grinning followed. And a fabulous Facebook selfie and check-in. Then all you can eat sushi. Job done.

21 months until we do the removal of conditions. And another 9 months later to start citizenship.

Best of luck and love to you all.

Got a letter in the mail with Interview scheduled for Jan 24th, which is nice to have about 1½ month notice so both hubby and I can plan our schedules at work. Online status never changed from "Fingerprint Fee Received in March", so it was a really nice surprise!

We weren't expecting anything until March, since Denver Office has been running about 1 year behind, but hey we will take it!! haha

I hope y'all get your letters soon as well and Merry Christmas!!

Thank you!

We are talking different things: If you've been married for more than two years at the time of application, you don't need to remove conditions and you get the permanent resident card for 10 years. That was my case. If you have been married for less than two years by the time of application, you will get a conditional resident card for two years and you will have to apply to remove conditions 90 days before the expiration of your card.

Just got a text and email today that our status updated. Checked it online and we finally have an interview date of January 20!

Fitting that it would be inauguration day, as my husband filed as one of the few DACA recipients who is eligible to adjust status, but would have been ineligible if the next administration gets rid of DACA.

Timeline

Just got a text and email today that our status updated. Checked it online and we finally have an interview date of January 20!

Fitting that it would be inauguration day, as my husband filed as one of the few DACA recipients who is eligible to adjust status, but would have been ineligible if the next administration gets rid of DACA.

Happy for you!! good luck on your interview!
