Follow-up on my post from 30 November: we called USCIS and got through to a Tier 1 relatively quickly, but she said that no more calls were going through to Tier 2 officers that day. She recommended we try to call again the next morning at 8:00 AM. However, we did that in August and ended up waiting nearly 2.5 hours for a call-back. I can't go into work 2.5 hours late because I'm waiting for a call back from USCIS!!

For those of us who do call the USCIS hotline, times of day/days of the week have you found to have the best response rate?

I relayed the entire saga to the Tier 1 (mostly to vent, because she couldn't really do anything) and she said I should give our service request another two weeks before calling again (the Tier 2 officer on our call to USCIS on Nov 15 told us specifically we should hear something within two weeks and to call back if we didn't).

WHY CAN'T THEY BE CONSISTENT?!??!?!?!?!?!

We had great luck using an intern caseworker as our Rep's office to get my husband's solo i130 approved in about two weeks. I'm convinced if you have a good intern or caseworker on things, you will get answers in some form.

Don't file any other inquiries til the intern gets back to you either. I was told you can essentially only do one every 30 days, including the congressional one. That is why we have to wait a bit still.

I'm cautiously optimistic because the intern caseworker in Senator Klobuchar's with whom we spoke was way more professional than the intern in Rep Ellison's office. He gave us a detailed timeline of what would happen and when we could call back for an update.

Fingers crossed...

Got our Green Card interview date - 9 months from filing the 485

Here we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :idea::dancing::goofy:

Yay, you guys!! Give us some hope!!!

Got a USCIS letter today.....thought it may be the interview, got super excited. Opened it and it was just the paper response to our inquiry. I almost tore the mailbox off the wall :ranting:

Today I heard from lawyer that all immigration processes are in delay because of new president and consequently new policies.

personally, I am positive and I dont think these news are reliable.

Delays or all immigration is on hold? Because it appears things are actually on hold, sadly

Do we have further information about this?

Today I heard from lawyer that all immigration processes are in delay because of new president and consequently new policies.

personally, I am positive and I dont think these news are reliable.

I honestly don't think this is true. Trump wont be in office until january so the president didnt change yet. And even once he takes office policies and laws etc etc wont change the same night, those things take time, it can take years.

So it would be really weird if theres a hold for this reason. They might "just" be delayed because of workload etc

I totally think that they don't process it according to the order of the date the cases were received. Meanwhile, I have been scouring in different forums, there are a couple of late March filers who don't have their interviews yet. I don't know if this will bring us NYC filers some glimmer of hope and a little more of patience, but some January 2016 filers that I saw, the interview date came at 9-10 mos and actual interview date at 10-11 mos. I am drafting letter to congressman now. Im going cray with this wait.
