Yeah, how can one score an infopass appointment? I've been sporadically checking for months and have never seen an opening...

Congressional inquiry is our next step as well. I'm just giving it enough time to age out the last request we did, so early next week. I plan on adding into whatever we tell them that getting an infopass is like finding gold... Edited November 30, 2016 by sparkles_

I read online that the Infopass appointment is essentially worthless. An attorney wrote a blog saying that it's basically like calling USCIS and speaking with a Tier 1, because the officer with whom you'd meet face-to-face is not the adjudicator of your case and just has basic knowledge of the AOS process and I-485 form. They can answer some questions and then direct more detailed inquiries elsewhere. So, might just be a big waste of time in the end.

Update: I contacted our (female) Congressperson's office today to request help with our case. I faxed them the Privacy Act Release form (yes, the U.S. government still asks us to fax things in 2016) and then followed up with a phone call in the afternoon. I spoke to a staffer (intern?) who confirmed they'd received my privacy release form and would get moving on contacting USCIS within 72 hours. He said to call back in a week to get an update, but also cautioned that it can take anywhere from three weeks to a few months to get any response from USCIS.

Well, at least we can confirm that Congresswoman Klobuchar's office received the form, which is a step up from Representative Ellison's office. Now to wait...

But DON'T WORRY! We will be calling USCIS and politely harassing them tomorrow afternoon about the lack of action for the service request we were promised two+ weeks ago.

We had great luck using an intern caseworker as our Rep's office to get my husband's solo i130 approved in about two weeks. I'm convinced if you have a good intern or caseworker on things, you will get answers in some form.

Don't file any other inquiries til the intern gets back to you either. I was told you can essentially only do one every 30 days, including the congressional one. That is why we have to wait a bit still.

my wife and I are really tired of checking online status every day!!

why people who already had their interview done, are not coming here to share some experience or at least say something ?? I dont understand what is USCIS' policy. I never thought that we should wait more than 8 months.

Ours took 9 months. There was a big backlog at our local office.

Some suggestions... you could put in a service request to find out why it's taking so long... you could call USCIS by telephone... you could take a look at the average wait time for your local office on this site.

Have you done any of those? Checking status daily can just eat away at you. I just ignored ours for many months as I knew it would be at least 8 months for our local office. Eventually just got an envelope in the mail and then a text message a day or so later.

Just google USCIS processing times and pick Atlanta from the dropdown list.

Got a USCIS letter today.....thought it may be the interview, got super excited. Opened it and it was just the paper response to our inquiry. I almost tore the mailbox off the wall

I'm in Atlanta too, my PD is March 22nd I placed a service request in September and I received a response in October stating that it is in the field office awaiting an interview. Fingers crossed I get something soon!

Today I heard from lawyer that all immigration processes are in delay because of new president and consequently new policies.

personally, I am positive and I dont think these news are reliable.

Delays or all immigration is on hold? Because it appears things are actually on hold, sadly
