I also am still on fingerprint fee received. Since 3/7. I made a service request with tier 2 in August and got a reply months later pretty much saying we received your request and are happy to tell you...nothing. The next step you need to take is...wait. If you wait and here nothing for 30 days make another service request. So I scheduled an infopass appointment that is 11/21/16. Hoping it might trigger something and make things start moving. I would be happy just seeing my status change to ready for interview. At least then I know my file still exists.

Filed my I-130/I-485 concurrently in March. My case is still in fingerprint fee received. I contacted my congressman back in August and got a response that same month that they were still processing background checks. I placed a service request in September (outside of processing time finally) and I got a late response that my case is finally at the field office and awaiting an interview. If i don't receive an interview within 90 days I can call and place another service request. I am so tired of waiting. I know people that filed in September that had their interviews in July at the same field office.

We got basically the same letter response, your case is awaiting interview and you will be contacted by your local office, and our PD is one day ahead of yours. We are in NC and the entire Carolinas and GA seem to be either turtle moving or flying, no middle. It seems everyone and their brother has been interviewed or at least gotten a letter for it, so I guess we are the turtles! Oh, and trying to reach a tier 2 person results in a 200-650 minute hold time lately, HAHAHA!!! It is like a sick, sad joke :( I had to finally catch a bit of attitude and get a request for a call back which did happen, only to tell us the same basic stuff that was in the letter. Sigh.

Are you able to reach a live person by calling USCIS? I've called the number each day this week (1-800-375-5283) and the automated voice message says "USCIS officers are available 8:00 am to 5:00 pm" (or whatever). It sounds like I am calling outside of normal hours. When I select option 1 (for English) and then option 2 (questions about a case being processed), I'm fed an automated message that has the same info found on my case status on the uscis.gov website.

How can I reach a live person?? We did so in August, but it seems like the call options have changed and I can't figure it out. HELP!! :bonk:

OMG! The same thing happened to me. The condescending officer on the phone told me one day "well call in the morning. There is less of a wait." I woke up at 7:30 and waited till the minute changed to 8:03 just to be safe. I got that same message. I did 8:15. Same message. 9. Same message. 9:30 Same message. All the way until around 11. I gave up - after burning down my own apartment in absolute rage. I tried again later that afternoon and got through as normal. I tried to tell the Tier 1 officer what had occurred. They kept answering "we are open from 8AM... Blah blah blah." - NO. YOU AREN'T. Did you just hear what I said? I said I tried calling you for hours - ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I am so dismayed by this process. Couple this massive delay on top of President Trump where my gay marriage may no longer be valid once he is in office and our whole immigration process cancelled and I'm just.... - tears, tears, tears, so many tears.

I'm in the same boat, the GC can be revoked if marriage equality is overturned on a federal level (doesn't matter if you live in a marriage equality state). It's nail-biting nerve wracking. On the bright side, Trump isn't likely to go after the gays first, his voters are expecting him to crack down on illegals and trade deals and if he potters around with minorities instead, it wouldn't be good for him.

Let us not despair until that shoe drops, though. Courage and perseverance, my friend!

Yes. I'm just desperately hoping we at least get approved prior to him being inaugurated. I can only imagine the staff cuts that will occur once he and Paul Ryan guy the government. Not trying to be too political on here, but this is a real thing to worry about in this process now, no?

I'm also in a same-sex marriage. They are not going to repeal gay marriage unless the Supreme Court does so, and same sex marriages passed with the current Supreme Court judges. The vacant seat is from an ultra conservative judge who voted against. So even if they were to vote again, the possibilities of one judge changing his or her mind are very slim. Let's just hope that no liberal judge dies. Also, taking away green cards is very unlikely, I don't think it will happen.

He will be very focused on building the wall, deporting illegals and negotiating the trade deals. Let's keep it positive.

You're right, they always say that but people are there. After you press 1 for English, and 2 so that you enter your case number....wait and listen til the very end, and it will repeat some things, you press option 3 to say you need to update/change information on the case and you will be routed to a tier one basic person. I hope this helps!! You may then ask to be transferred to tier two from there who is an ISO that can see more than basic things about your case.

I woke up at 7:30 and waited till the minute changed to 8:03 just to be safe.

I caught a slight case of attitude and explained that I called one day and the hold time was 200 plus minutes, then three days later it was 600 plus, then my call back dropped and I need someone ASAP that is an ISO because my spouse is not free in the mornings. I was not rude but I let the tier one know I need a guarantee call back. I was issued basically an inquiry about a 'notice' I did not receive AKA the call back that showed in my online portal as well because. They did finally call back the next morning.

The tier one I got basically said they are holiday swamped and have a lower number of ISO tier two available.....it made me want to bang my head into the wall, literally.

I am terrified of what will happen to all of us and our loved ones in the AOS process, I fear we are about to see a massive slow down in processing due to the election and incoming President's wanting to overhaul immigration. :'(

I would think that, God forbid,if it was overturned somehow it would not affect those who had married or petitioned and filed when it was still legal to do so. Just the others who wished to file after the overturn.....horrible either way. I am scared because we are Muslim, my husband is from a North African country.....and with the remarks Trump has made about stopping immigration from 'terror prone' countries, well I don't know. I like to think and hope Morocco isn't on that list.

Yes. I'm just desperately hoping we at least get approved prior to him being inaugurated. I can only imagine the staff cuts that will occur once he and Paul Ryan guy the government. Not trying to be too political on here, but this is a real thing to worry about in this process now, no?

It is a real panic button for me personally. I have literally cried over it, for myself and others in process and what could happen.
