oh my god, sending prayers your way. Is there treatment that can correct this problem? I am guessing you have to wait for the specialist to tell you what your treatment options are. oh man this is terrible. hang in there - kiddo.

Basically the only treatment is surgery to put things back where they belong and relieve the presure on the spine. I am hoping that there is another option out there coz this surgery doesn' t always work.. I guess I will find out today. ..

Hey everybody. This doesn't have anything to do with immigration but I wanted to let you all know whats been going on with me. I posted it here because I don't go into other VJ forums and my friends are here in the ME/NA forum. I hope this doesn't bother anybody. I am friends with most of you so that is why I chose to post this publically rather than send a zillion PM's and run the risk of forgetting somebody. I tried to find a way to send a PM to all my friends at 1 time but couldn't find a way. So that is another reason I did it this way...

I had an MRI the other day and got the results today. They told me I have Chiari Malformation. Basically it means that the base of my brain (cerebellum) has protruded through the base of my skull. It is probably the reason for many of my problems I've had lately (too many to mention).

There are many things that can happen including, but not limited to ... paralysis, loss of feeling in limbs, migraines, dizziness, slurred speech, back/neck pain, etc etc etc. It can be looked up at webmd.com or by doing various other general browser searches if you're interested in learning more. I will be seeing my doctor tomorrow afternoon to discuss this further. Thanks for listening and again, I hope I am not causing a problem by posting this publically.

Wow! The support here is just overwhelming. Honestly, I didn't expect so many well wishes. Thank you all very much.

I just got back from the doctor and he said that I have Chiari Malformation Type 1. This is the most common form of this disease. I have had it since birth apparently. There are "tonsils" at the base of the brain and mine have dropped (as explained earlier) into the spinal area. As of now there is no pressure on the spine or spinal chord so that is something to be thankful for. I will be going to see a neurologist to have tests done to make sure there isn't any damage to my nerves. So this is where I'm at right now.

Thanks again to all of you!
