Green Card, AP & EAD Question

Hello all,

I've got a couple of questions/comments that I think I know the answer to, but just want some confirmation.

My wife (then fiance) arrived here in September on a K1 visa, we married in November and sent in the in the I-485 for adjustment of status along with EAD & AP applications in early January. She had her biometrics appointment in early February. So at this point we were expecting to wait about another month for the EAD & AP to be approved with the green card to follow sometime late in the summer. So we were quite surprised when the green card (conditional 2 year) arrived in the mail yesterday.

My questions are:

1 - Is this common? After the K1 approval process in Texas dragging on for so long last year I was happily surprised to get this processed so quickly.

2 - We have not received the approval for the EAD or the AP yet. I assume that these are not necessary for her at this point as the green card serves that purpose. Is this correct?

I'm asking since my wife is very anxious to visit her ailing mother, but I don't want to jump the gun here and for her to have any problems on reentering the country after a short trip home.

1) not really but congrats!

2) a green card means she no longer needs EAD or AP. She is now an LPR. She can leave and work as she pleases as long as she maintains the USA as her residence and spends more time in than out.
