I 129 Approved, Transferred and Never arrived :(

well my petition got approved.. and on Feb 13th it was supposed to be getting transfered to the Embassy.. but it has NOT gotten there !!! it has been a MONTH!!! Today is MARCH 12th !!! I called the NVC and they didnt really have a answer as to WHY it has been a month and the Embassy has NOT gotten it IS THIS NORMAL???!!!!

How can it just be Floating around??? Not at the NVC but not at the embassy??!! GRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !

and I want my husband to go get his medical.. but I want to at least know that it has been received by the Embassy before I tell him to go get his physical.

Most likely, and I don't know if this is accurate, but these embassies take their sweet time entering your and processing you petition. So, the NVC sends it to them, and when the consulate gets 'em they just throw them on top of the stack and no processing at all is done until yours is ready to be processed for completion. you basically don't get any kind of notice from them indicating they've gotten the damn thing, at least that's true at most or all consulates.

Most likely, and I don't know if this is accurate, but these embassies take their sweet time entering your and processing you petition. well.. my embassy is Cairo.. and they have a Bad rep. And the woman I spoke to said it was never entered in as received.. so maybe your right.. maybe it is just sitting on a big pile at the embassy :crying:

I read the sub-Saharan Africa forum, and it seems to be pretty common among those embassies to either lose the petition or be really slow in some other way. Getting a congressperson involved might prompt the embassy to get its act together.

Don't worry, our case took about a month after they received it to enter it into their system & mail out the packet 3. They should be mailing out your packet 3 soon.....don't worry........I can't believe I'm saying that......considering its the cairo embassy I'm referring to

My case was forwarded to embassy (approved for k3 from nvc on october 3 2006...) we got no other word except for interview in february appt which was delivered on jan 1...if that helps... regarding medical... I dont think you can do that ahead of time...that comes as part of the interview letter..at least thats the case in philippines...

I am on the same boat! NVC told us they sent to consulate in 15th february and the rio consulate hasnot answered my email, I called them and guess they have a eletronic attendiment that is a suck!! Now I am here getting extressed, ansious, nervous, excited and very much bored with this. Brasil is like a turtle!!

What you can do is request that the embassy set up a provisional file for you. I know that someone else did that with Cairo I just can't remember her name at the moment. Just email them, give your NOA2 number and info and request that a provisional file be set up. She did this and immediately they sent out the packet 3.

I think she's filing for a K-1 but that shouldn't matter. There's a sample request in the "example forms" tab if you want something to go by.

In this context, "received" does not mean received. It means logged into the computer as received and status of "Open". You'll generally find the best information by calling the Dept. of State at 202.663.1225 then menu 1-0-0.

What you want to know is if the case is logged as received and in the "Open" status. "Loaded" status simply means they've received the electronic file, not the paper file. I would also ask if any name checks are completed or pending. You'll need the case number NVC assigned when they got your file and, of course the benificiary/applicant's name.

yeah.. I spoke to the AGAIN yesterday.. they said it was electronically transferred... and they can not tell me WHEN the actual papers will get mailed... they said they might be waiting to mail them in a batch... BUT I this is starting to TICK ME OFF... Over a month it has been approved and Yet the papers have not been Mailed??!!!

You might as well forget fair. Don't confuse "sent" and "received". Your case should have a "loaded" date. That's the date it was approved by NVC to be physically transferred to the Embassy or Consulate. Usually the actual file will leave within a few days. It goes to the mail room etc. Depending on the Embassy or Consulate, the time from "loaded" to "open" status can vary greatly. Between the loaded and open dates in the DOS computer, your case is in a black hole. Anybody who tells you anything about shipping or receiving is blowing smoke. They simply do not have actual shipping and receiving information. They can only track actions documented in the computer. Shipping is not one of those actions that gets documented.
