This is my second time posting this because the first was in the wrong forum.

I am a 18 year old university student and currently being sponsored by my step mother who is a citizen. I have been scheduled a interview at the US embassy (In Lebanon) on March 16th. After searching all over this website I can't find anyone with a case like mine! Cases such as step parents sponsoring step childs, I mostly find marriage cases. So I am confused on what I should bring to the interview and what kind of questions I will be asked! I am also really nervous because Ive been waiting forever for this moment and I don't want to screw it up. But as a 18 year old I have no idea what kind of documentation I should bring or what I will be asked. Should I bring things such as proof of being in university, high school diploma, proof that I am employed (waiter at a trsrestaurant) should I bring any proof of my bank account? Thanks!

hi

nope you don't need all that, the financial proof is on your stepmom

just to be on the safe side, you can take the i864 original and her financial support documents, documents, files and paperwork that was sent to immigration

you probably won't need it, but just in case they mess something up

the questions will be about your relationship with your stepmom, you dad, family things, maybe about you

I assume they married before you turned 18 right?

these types of petitions are straightforward and not so complicated as spousal visas

Yes the marriage occurred before I turn 18. For the i864 form we have a cosigner who is willing to support me. Will this affect my case at all if we had a cosigner? My biggest worry is that they think the marriage is false or they think I am not to close to my step mother and try making me prove it is.

hi

no problem, your stepmom can have a joint sponsor, then take both affidavits and supporting documents to the interview

just by asking you a few questions the officer will know if you know about your stepmom

Do you have any idea what questions they will ask because I have never met her honestly since she hasn't visited Lebanon.

I know of 2 people who had children 17 and 18 interview. It's nothing to fear. They may ask you whats your step mom's name, the city you are going to live in. It's really very painless. So just relax. When was late time you seen mom or dad. Just general stuff.
