Hello,

I recently got married and I am applying for my I-130 and adjustment of status. I am wondering what name I should use? None of my documents, passport, I.D. etc have my married name. Should I just stick to my maiden name to get the ball rolling and maybe change it in the future? My Canadian passport for example does not need to be renewed until 2019 is it best to stick to my maiden name?

Thank you for your opinions!

If you changed your name during marriage, your new name is now your current legal name, and you should use that name on all forms. The marriage certificate is proof of your name change, and any other documents in the old name can be used in conjunction with the marriage certificate.

You are the beneficary here/ your US citizen does the application

Since you do not have to change your last name, use whichever one you want

the application has a place for him to list all names (alias names) you have used

Good luck

It's not "use whichever one you want". A person only has one legal name at a time, and that's the name they should use.
