NBI clearance HELP for those done with CR1/IR1 interview

hi VJers,

WE are scheduled to have our interview next week and I am getting confused about Aka for Nbi clearances. It says you will only have Aka if you were married in the past and there were corrections on your name. So it doesnt apply to me. This is my first marriage and the Nbi clearance shows my Married name A B C and husband's name D. I am using ACD now.

I am confused with the information thay I am getting here.

NBI CLEARANCE (USEM requires Green Form). Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance (purpose: for travel abroad) from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should be in the applicants current name, birth certificate name, maiden name and any aliases or nicknames used, including different spellings you have used of those names. An official letter of explanation from the NBI is required for any notation of "No criminal record" or "No pending case". The letter of explanation must be requested from USEM. Normally after the interview.

If Your form says something like NO RECORD ON FILE or NO DEROGATORY RECORD then you have nothing to worry about

Even if your NBI form says something else, they'll probably just ask a few questions and maybe ask for a written explanation. It seems like there are very, very, very few things that can cause a permanent and non-waiverable ineligibility. But do get all the different aka's like Greenbaum said.

It was also confirmed by some people here that for first marriages (CR1/IR1), NBI clearance under Maiden name plus husband's name on a portion of the clearance is fine. As long as all names used are on the same clearance. NBI on married name is for those who have previous marriages.
