My husband is Australian, and we are currently awaiting the visa interview at the consulate in Sydney for my husband's CR-1 visa. We are preparing to schedule the medical exam and the NVC website says that we need medical history records. #1, we can only go back about 5 years due to my husband moving a lot as a child/teen. #2, the physician's office refuses to give my husband his medical records and says that the panel physician conducting the medical exam will have to request the information directly. Is this going to be a problem? We have my husband's immunization records from when he was a child, but other than that, we're stuffed. Do the medical records really matter?

This varies some per country but no, the medical records should not matter that much; at the visa medical, he will need to fill out a very long form about his medical history anyways.

Where it may matter is vaccinations; if he cannot prove he has had the required vaccinations, he may need to re-do them or pay for a blood/ tither test to show he has had them before.
