1. I believe I screwed up on changing my wifes name. I have read that we were suppose to put new name when filling out the AOS form. But we did not. Should we just start putting her new name on everything or do we now have to go to courthouse?

2. I understand that we were suppose to file for ss# once my wife got here. We did not do because we were unaware. Now her I-94 is no longer valid. Can she still file for ss# or do we have to wait until her EAD comes in? We need for tax filing

purposes.

Thanks

I'm not sure about the name change but I do know that, as your wife is now out of status (but in a 'period of authorized stay') she cannot apply for an SSN until her EAD is approved. You would have had to have applied with at least 14 days validity on the I-94.
