Hello, my francés appointment is this coming Tuesday and we're making our final checks that we have everything in order. Anyway, we're wondering if there is a particular order to have the documents (birth certificate, police certificate, evidence of relationship, etc) or it doesn't really matter? Also at the moment we have everything in a binder in clear page protectors so that you can flip through it like a book. Is this a good idea for the interview?

Thanks

Does not matter what order they are in. That would only be for your organization. You hand them over when they ask for them, usually most at once. You cannot hand them over in plastic sleeve binders, so those are not really needed, except to keep them protected in transit.

she'll have to take it out for the plastic sleeve to give it to them?

What is the 'apartment letter'?

You will need the info/invitation letter that Juarez sends out for the ASC, medical and interview. You should also bring confirmation of appointments and DS-160.

I think is a typo, instead of "apartment letter" is "appointment letter". To answer your question, don't wait until the last minute to print this letter, ask her to take it with her to Juarez. If she doesn't have it, or if is too late to print it before she goes to Juarez, she can print it at the hotel she will be staying or at one of the places around the consulate. Fingerprints, medical and appointment need the same letter.

I read this thread again, maybe somebody else can help me here:

I read somewhere that your fiancee can go to the information window and get the letter directly from the consulate. I looked for the post but I can't find it (If somebody has this info, please share)

I don't know if the K-1 medical exam is the same as the CR-1 exam, so I don't know if you can get the results as fast as the CR-1 exams. I went to Servicios Medicos de la Frontera, I got there at 10:45am and I was out in 30 minutes. I didn't have an appointment. I mention this, just in case your fiancee goes to the consulate to get the letter (upon confirmation from somebody here), then she can go to the medical exam, as long as is before 11 am.

I received an email from the NVC with the appointment letter, and I receive the hard copy 1 week later. If you're working with a lawyer office, find out if they received it, if not, I'd try to call NVC very first thing in the morning, to see if they can email you one.

If somebody would like to chime in, please be tactful, the fiancee will be in Juarez tomorrow, so no "should've, could've" answers. They need useful info to get through this step.

Good luck!!!!

Ahhh, I just realized my two threads got merged, (I knew one of my threads had was merged but I didn't think it was these to because these aren't the same topics. I don't believe threads of different topics should be merged because the title of the thread doesnt correctly display my question. And this was a very urgent matter. I don't understand merging threads of the same topic but these were too separate topics. One of which was an ASAP matter and I didn't get the answer I needed because it was merged into a thread whith a title pertaining to something totally different than the question I originally asked. If a mod does fill the need to merge threads of different subject matters then I believe it's just for us to ask that the mod also edits the title to display the correct subject matter. I do understand the importance of keeping getting to cluttered. But I think everyone needs to remember this site is here to help each other and some matters are much more urgent than others. And last night I was stressed enough to make myself sick because I really didn't know what to do and the people here on this forum where what I was relying on. Sorry for venting, and really I'm saying all this but not just for me. My visa journey is just about finished, however I know there will be others after me and I think it's just wise that the mods are carefully when editing / merging threads. We can't expect everyone to make a perfect post each and every time expecially under stress and when time is of the essence. Just my honest opinion. Anyway, thanks for those who are trying to answer my questions. I actually don't have an answer about it. This morning after about an hour or so of calling the medical office the Secretary picked up and said that there's nothing to worry about and that we could bring it to them after the exam. They even said if for some reason her exam takes longer than planned she can live to go the asc at the consulate and then go back to finish the medical. This is in Juárez Mexico.

Thanks for the reply, yes it was a typo. anyway, how do I get a copy of it in order to print it out? As far as I understand the don't email them. They only send the appointment letters by mail. The letter was sent out December 17th but it still hasn't shown up.

If you do not receive it before going to Juarez, you can get the letter printed out from the information window at the consulate before going to your medical and appointments.

Thanks everyone, and yes I know I know. Unfortunately my computer took a shower in the rain (long story) and is in a thousand pieces at the moment. While I have everyone here. Is there a problem with taking a picture of my birth certificate to send to my fiance or does it need to be scanned / faxed? (our scanner is too small for the birth certificate)
