RFE for i693

Hi,

So today I just got an update on my EAD saying that the card is being produced (after going to congressman) however I just received and RFE in the mail for the i693.

How can I get my EAD if I have an RFE for the AOS? bit confused. The i485 status is "case is ready to be scheduled for interview"

The RFE is dated 20th feb and my ead was sent for production today (24th) - I have a feeling this will cause an issue. Im distraught...

The RFE reads, NEW i693 - report of medical examination and vaccination record with original signatures.

I sent it my vaccination record which was complete, so not sure what this is? Do I have to go to a civil surgeon? Im so confused..

I sent only a photcopy of my DS3025. Maybe they require the original (as it says orginal signatures?) I dont see why I have to have a medical. My vaccinations are complete. I didnt send it the i693 at all..

I imagine that you would have to take you vaccination document - DS- 3025 that you got from your medical examination to the civil surgeon and he will just transcribe that infomation into the i693.

You do not need new medical since it is not over 1 year.

If you have a cd with your X-ray (I got it from London) i would take that with you just in case too.

You would not have original of DS3025 because they only give us the photocopy.

I am guessing that for the original signatures they mean civil surgeon signing it off on the i693.

Thanks. I may have to do that. As for the EAD, its odd that it was sent for production (NOA2) today but the RFE is dated the 20th. I dont know whether I will get the EAD or if its now delayed.

REF for AOS can be issued at any point of this process. Even after having the interview for Green Card. it should not delay you EAD. If so, it will delay you AOS process since you need to send the REF back.

As for the I-693 - if your medical is less then a year old you do not need a new one. Now you just need to find a civil surgeon that is willing to transcribe just the vaccinations without making you do a new medical. From my reading on here, this may require w bit of shopping around.

This I-693 thing seems hit an miss anyway. Technically, they are supposed to have the original I-693 from your POE envelope - maybe they lost it?

REF for AOS can be issued at any point of this process. Even after having the interview for Green Card. it should not delay you EAD. If so, it will delay you AOS process since you need to send the REF back.

Phew I hope I get the EAD. Im thinking since they started producing EAD 4 days after RFE, im still ok with that,

Made doctor appointment tomorrow. She was trying to tell me I needed full new medical which is not true. Im going to take my vaccinations and x ray and the form i693. Im thinking they just need to sign it off. She wanted to charge me 250+ which I know is ridiculous.. I dont understand what needs to happen. My vaccinations are upto date so the civil surgeon just needs to sign it off?

Shes going to let me know price but she needs to know exactly what I need doing I said just a review, to transcribe complete vaccinations and to sign. Is that correct? Do you know which parts of the form they need to do? Sorry im freaking out a little haha.

Check the I-693 - it should have a statement that says you do not need another medical exam as a K1 visa holder who had a medical exam in the last 12 months. Show that to her. Take your vaccination record, your DS-3025 and the RFE. What does the RFE specifically state? I believe you only have to do a new medical if USCIS looses your results completely.

Thanks. i will take all of that. I think they only need to fill out parts 1,2,4 and the vaccination bit..

It says

NEW i693, Report of medical examination and vaccination record with original signatures. Please be sure to include your vaccination record.

So confusing.. New medical? Just the form? haha.. Im just flustered with this. I will make an appointment with them, take in everything I have inlcuding the printed out i693, and the instructions and see what happens.

My main concern is that this does not delay the EAD that was approved today (my initial thought is it wont, as the RFE was 4 days before the NOA2 so why would they do that)

Okay, with that RFE I am not sure - maybe someone else has an idea! To me it sounds like they have no record of your medical, but this might just be crappy unclear USCIS language?

Can you elaborate on the RFE?

Does it say an address to send it to and a deadline for how many days you have?

Or does it say, IF you did not send an I-693 then blah blah blah

It is possible they did not find your medical file from POE and they are requesting a full medical. Yes they lose them. It 's possible it's a generic reminder because not everybody includes medical or vaccs with original application. You did via POE.

I wouldn't rush off to a doctor tomorrow not really understanding what you need or if you need it. That's why I am asking if your RFE is actually an RFE. Write it all out if there is more.
