NVC can't find receipt number?

Hi everyone,

My fiancee and I received our NOA2 notice on January 4th, and we called the NVC for our case number in mid-January and were told that a case number hadn't been assigned and we should call back in a month. My fiancee called back last week, and the person they were speaking with said that they could not locate that receipt number. I told them that we were told they had already received it, and she sent the receipt number to her supervisor who is looking into it from here. She said that it's likely we won't have to start the entire process over.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? I am worried that they've lost our petition and that we WILL have to start over, despite what the representative I spoke with said. I am just confused as to what could have happened that they received it on January 13th and no case number was ever assigned

I'm not sure what we should do from here. I was told the supervisor will reach out to us within the next week, but I am unsure what exactly I should be doing and where to go from here in the meantime.

My case was approved in jan 8th kept calling nvc and always the same reply it's not in the system yet we emailed NVCresearch still nothing we put a service request at uscis in march 3 and still no reply the only thing we got is a new noa2 feb 26 and nvc still does'nt have it
