You just need to send your son's birth certificate along with the form I-130 and the check for this petition fee. It is better to file for his petition now as soon as possible because the waiting time is very long for his Priority Date to be current. If you become a Naturalized Citizen your son's Priority Date will remain the same but his preference category will be moved to F1( petition of USC to unmarried son and daughter) from F2B (petition of Permanent Resident to unmarried son and daughter). The petition of USC to unmarried son and daughter(F1) will take longer for the Priority date to be current and that is the situation of Filipino beneficiaries. You can see the movements or development in the visa bulletin.

Timelined for the future are difficult to predict, your Grandson could have aged out, and anyway he will be an adult by then and may have other ideas.
