It's not about being stuck up on rules. It's about the race to the bottom that illegal immigration fuels. Soaring profits vs. stagnant wages. The inability of the janitor to support him/herself anymore. And that's just the start. Few get rich in this scheme (and they will buy the next amnesty) and the many pay for it. That's what I don't like about it.

The needed influx of people exists and I welcome each and every one of them just as America has welcomed me and my wife. It does not take illegals to maintain it.

reminds me of the South Park episode I watched last week about "time" immigrants, people from a overpopulated under producing future decide THEY want a better life so they come to our time, work for next to nothing, steal ALL the jobs.

To those that support Amnesty, I ask why is it OUR obligation to support countries that do little for themselves...except send their excess to us?

I do not understand this "they just want a better life" argument, how is it the US's responsibility to give them a better life when they are foreign nationals?

As had been pointed out before, just because someone wants a better life does not mean that they can avoid/ignore the laws. I want a better life, I think I will go rob a bank so I can sit at home with Olga all day but don't you dare think of putting me in jail...I just want a better life!

That my friend's is a  attitude.

Why is it OUR obligation to spread "democracy"? Why is it OUR obligation to support ####### deals like NAFTA?

I'll never understand the anger (resentment, fear, pick your adjective) towards those that are undocumented in this country. I wonder how many people who make the target the illegal alien even know the experience of these families. A significant number of undocumented aliens came here legally and simply loss status. Many entered illegally and make valuable contributions to society. This debate is not black and white and you can't simply ignore the human factor.

This is a family immigration website, the sytem fails some of these families. It is quite common for a family to have a mix of immigration status within one family. Some maybe USC, others LPR and others undocumented.

Why not advocate a policy that address the human needs of these people rather than talk about deportation. Deportation will destroy some families. How is that good for anyone?

I'd call it concern...in the previously mention episode of South Park, the time immigrants did not want to learn modern day language so the modern day people were force to learn future speak....sound familiar? Why should I have to learn Spanish when they refuse to learn English in what was once an ENGLISH speaking country?

My point is that I would not mind so much if they did not expect so much!

Remember the protests last year? Parading around towns across the US waving the Mexican flag, DEMANDING their "RIGHT" to be US citizens?

Now I must go get Olga's translated Birth Certificate....have a nice day!

Please do tell any services or transactions you weren't able to receive or complete because you were REQUIRED to know Spanish?

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

I wonder this, too. I can only assume it's due to peoples' arrogance, elitism, isolationism (selective), and sheer ignorance.

If we don't support lawbreakers who cut in line to demand what they have no damn right to, we are arrogant, elitist, isolationist, and ignorant. When you have to stoop to insults, you've got no honorable argument.

But since this is the best you can muster as a sustainable position, that supposition could easily be turned back on you bleeding hearts who don't even try to understand the consequences of what you blindly advocate. You are incredibly arrogant, elitist, isolationist, and ignorant for foisting on others the forced spread of poverty while decrying the spread of forced democracy.

Hmm, that arguement does make more sense when aimmed at the pro-illegal crowd.

An amnesty will only trigger more illegal immigration. So, it's a lot of cost and a lot more cost down the road. The last amnesty hasn't really cured the issue of illegal immigration but made it worse and the next one won't cure it either but only make it worse. Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results is simply insane.

That explains alot about those who support it.

Well stated GEG!!!

I am really getting tired of the lame and unsupported position's on illegal immigration.

Example question for the illegal: Are you legally here? If the answer is no, then STFU. You have zero right to complain or protest about rights. These rights are afforded to tax paying Americans only, under the constitution. Waving Non-US national flags and demanding rights? Huh? #######?

The USG appeases those in that position to garner political support, during midterm elections. At the end of the day, amnesty will never fly. Mark my words.

I so wish you were right. But I'm afraid you're not.

We all know that few have gotten handsomely rich exploiting illegal labor. Those that have won't give up and will use portions of their illegal profits to pay their way to the next amnesty. It's coming. I have no illusions that the political system will work (in which case an amnesty wouldn't be coming). Money will talk (as it always has) and the profiteers of illegal labor will get their fcuking way.

What should happen is this: Any profits derived from illegal labor ought to be seized without exception just as proceeds from any other illegal activity are seized. Those responsible for hiring illegals ought to be fined and jailed. Then we could just sit back and watch the illegal crowd leave all on their own.
