Maiden name or married name?

I have read some posts regarding which name to use on the I-130 forms. I am just trying to find out which way is easier, to put my wifes married name on all forms or use her maiden name on all forms. I am the USC and she is a Mexican citizen. Just wondering the pros and cons of trying to change her maiden name to her married name now or after the process is complete? Or even the pros and cons of not having her change her name to her married name at all?

Whether or not one wants to change their name is a personal choice that has no bearing in any way, shape, or form on any immigration process.

If your wife wants to use a married name on her green card, then fill out all applicable paperwork using her married name. Additionally, she will need to obtain a passport that has her married name on it.

The green card name is dependent on what the passport name is?

We were thinking maybe leaving everything in her maiden name and then changing her name during the time it is to the ROC on her two year conditional green card to get the ten year green card.

visa in passport name

green card in visa name.

Some people reported issues this year with changing their name. She would have to change ALL of her US ID once you get the 10 year card if you go this route. It may be easier to just change the passport now.

To add to NLR's post if you wanted to go that route, you would need to produce a document showing a legal name change in order for that to work.
