Ok guys I was going to pm a few vj buddies but I figured I would post this so it can help others. I have all the required info and forms for my man's interview(thanks to the brilliant guides here on VJ), but I wanted to know what some of you brought with you?

I have a wedding dress receipt, a ring receipt, phone bills, tons of pics...................what am I leaving out? Should I have letters from friends and family????

Any tips would be so helpful-I just want to know what others have done

Thanks all :star:

What they typically DO want (they did, at Chennai):

  • I-134, along with copy of USC's tax return (including W-2's), proof of current employment
  • evidence of continued relationship (letters, phone bills, etc)
  • copy of USC's US passport, ALL pages
  • if USC not US-born, copy of naturalisation certificate

Beneficiary must also furnish:

  • original, valid passport
  • police certificates, as required
  • medical report, sealed

Wedding dress and ring receipts are actually redundant.

beyond what the forms asked for, I made up envelopes of evidence: one for every time we met in person (pictures, emails before/after trip, souvenirs, boarding passes, etc), one of evidence of engagement (pictures from the proposal day, cards of congratulations, ring receipt), and one of correspondance between our mothers, hehe. I made it fit in a open ended cloth bag (or a big plastic bag, can't remember) with everything else.

I wasn't asked to show any of it (although I almost did, to prove that we had met each other's families), but organizing it all the night before the interview helped me to relax considerably. It helped to remind me why I was doing all of this! :)

We took pics with his daughter and/or my kids in them and some emails at different times throughout our relationship (only a few). We also took both of our phone bills to show the hours of conversations we had.

Then, of course, the I-134, police certificate, medical exam sealed envelope, passport and all the originals of the documents submitted with the I-129F.

Good luck.
