Forgot to cancel return ticket CR-1 Visa

Good morning everyone,

I've been in the US for 2 weeks.

Yesterday I got an E-Mail from Delta Airlines that "It's time to check in".

I forgot to cancel my return flight to Germany. Flight would be in 5 hours...

Does the airline care if I cancel my flight?
Would it have any negative effects for my Visa?

Yes the airline cares. But they'll still give your seat away when you don't show up. Although someone who was overbooked without a seat would likely appreciate it if you called and canceled right now. If you didn't have an assigned seat, then it really doesn't matter.

No it will not affect your visa.

the airlines routinely send flight manifests of ticket holders in to some fed office.

If you were a K-1 visa holder, this might be a big deal later when chasing the adjustment of status casefile, if the glitch showed up during the fbi name check.

since you hold a cr-1 or ir-1 visa, IMO, it won't matter one whit.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
