Good morning,

We just sent in our I-751 which included the following:

Letter from our credit union which shows a joint checking, saving, and money market account from the time of our marriage.

Letter from First Baptist Church Atlanta that shows we have been members since our marriage. Also shows our tides each week.

IRS tax transcripts with W2 forms

Copies of insurance cards/papers from day one

Copies of bills, cell, power, water, charge card, etc

Even sent copies of where we got our flu shot together

Certified copy of letter of friend who had known both of us for years prior to our marriage.

Delta Airlines sky miles statements and boarding passes that show trips made together.

Paperwork that shows joint ownership of our vehicles.

Numerous other documents that shows this is a true and faithful marriage.

I was going for quality over quantity. Mind you it was a fair amount of paperwork that was about an inch thick. Okay now for my question:

I have read a number of posts that people said they sent in 4 pounds of evidence or even 8 pounds of evidence. WHAT? Are they really sending in that much evidence? Is it really worth it? I cannot even think about the person that has to go through 8 pounds of paperwork trying to decide if the marriage is real or not. Yes I fully believe in front loading but...

Just wondering what your thoughts are on this matter. If you are someone that sent in 8 pounds of evidence then please do not bash me as I am not coming down on you but trying to understand.

Thanks and may God Bless each and every one of you.

Praying for a fast response from USCIS for each of you waiting for the 10 year green card.

I sent in nothing like that much, an inch?

I think that your evidence shows a good range of factual information to show that your lives are intertwined. If I were you I would not worry about it. I sent probably not as much evidence as you have, but I thought that it was a reasonable amount to prove my marriage is legitimate. In my opinion I am already here, living with my husband and if they decide that I need to send more evidence, then I will. If my application is delayed because of it, it has no real effect on my life (unlike when I was applying for my K1 visa and was living in a different country to my then fiance). So I am happy to wait and not worry about it because I know that it will all work out in the end.

if on Copies of bills, cell, power, water, charge card, etc

you have 24 months showing both names,

then yes, it could easily stretch up to 6 pounds o paper.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Our initial ROC petition and evidence packet weighed in at just about six (6) pounds. At the time, we thought to ourselves that was more than enough. Then, about eight months later, we got an RFE seeking all marriage bonafides evidence, since the inception of the marriage. :help: That resulted in us scrounging up EVERY piece of paper that could be interpreted as more marriage bonafides evidence. The package containing our response and supplemental evidence to the RFE came in just under four (4) pounds. Our ROC was approved about a week after USCIS receipt of the RFE package. The only thing that I can think of is that either we got a newbie adjudicator, or a very nit-picky adjudicator. :ranting:

I sent in nothing like that much, an inch?

Check some recent posts, things and times have changed (at least at the CSC with respect to ROC petitions). This inordinate request for a wad o' paper to be submitted with ROC petitions is a somewhat new and troublesome trend. Our RFE was adjudicated in April-May 2015.

Hopefully YMMV,

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Exactly. We had three joint bank accounts, two joint credit card accounts, and four different joint utility bills (cable, electric, water and cell phone). That's 9 different bills. Each monthly bill was at least 2 pages and often 6 pages long. That's 18-40 pages EACH MONTH for 24 months. I did weed out what I thought was completely unnecessary, but since we have seen many reports of RFE requests for "complete" copies of bills, I didn't want to leave out too much. Our stack was 3 inches high and weighed just under 7 pounds. It was extremely well-labeled with tabs at the bottom, punched for ACCO fasteners and cross-referenced with 'see page X' notes. Better safe than sorry, but of course we are still waiting ... so we'll see if we made the right choice or not!

Mine was also 2" high. Fit in a little box.

Found out the office it was actually adjudicated at was not CSC but rather a local office close to my husband's work. Or so says the approval letter that looks nothing like an official letter.

not true to overwhelm, people have been denied for sending too much. there is a happy medium, quality vs quantity.

I believe that luck plays a big role when it comes to USCIS.

it isn't luck. It's doing research about what to send and following instructions. It is pretty easy as long as you send what is required

I am not just talking about ROC, but USCIS in general, many I-130 and K-1 petitions were approved in very short time comparing to others. Even here I read about cases being approved in 25 days and others more than a year.

The immigration process caused me PTSD.
