Hi, this is my first post here but I've certainly been scouring through the posts, stats and timelines!

I know I shouldn't be, and I know what the answer is, but I can't help myself... I'm really anxious that we haven't received our NOA2 yet, is anyone else worried? We did receive our NOA1 on January 4 and noticed that there's been some around the same date and later that have already received theirs.

I'm seriously having a word with myself for fretting but this is by far the most anxious situation I've found myself in!

I will not look back on this journey with fond memories, but I will look back knowing that every step was worth it, whatever the outcome.

There is a lot of people here including myself who got their NOA2 after 6 months and you are getting anxious when you have not finished even 2 months???Every case is different and just because someone else got NOA2 before you doesn't mean there is something wrong with your case.

No need to worry. As your case is at California Service Center it will be seen to much faster than those who used to be stuck/are still stuck at Texas Service Center. CSC usually handles cases within a few weeks to a few months, so I'm sure yours will be in the pipeline shortly. If you have waited over the standard processing goal of 5-6 months, then be concerned.

Ah, thank you. Just needed that little bit of reassurance, so easy to freak out over nothing I'm realising!

Love your timeline by the way, great to read detailed information.

We're in the same seat, NOA1 on January 4th and we're not able to check our case status on their website, app or via costumer service. We just get "case not found with USCIS" when we try to check it. So you're not alone. :)

They have it though, right? You just can't check it? That would freak me out. I hope it still goes through ok and it's just an error on their system with your receipt number. Keeping everything crossed for you.

You're as bad as me, stop stressing about it. I'm sure something will happen soon. I've been told at CSC they get given piles and then they just work though them, so it depends on how fast that person works on their case load. Thats why some get done faster than others. I wouldn't worry, I'd expect it to take a few weeks if there is nothing holding you up. I just saw someone near my case get approved (14th) too.

I sure hope they have it! But yes, no way to check it and when we call USCIS they don't know anything either. So at this point all we can do is wait and hope nothing's wrong. I think I've freaked out a few times already, haha :P

I hope both you and us get our NOA2 this week, fingers crossed. :dancing:

It's as if the NOA1 triggered every panic button! As much as I've read the forums every one is different. When you want something so much and it's our lives in someone else's hands, scary.

I will sit back and enjoy the ride. Feel free to pm me if anyone wants. Thank you for your support.

The wait was horrible for me, too! Although it was our NOA1 that took a while. It didn't help at all that I was seeing actual visa approvals, not just NOA1s being issued, in the forums for applications that were filed AFTER we filed ours. And someone even told me that she was afraid our case might have been sent for a background check since everybody she knew who filed at the time that we did had all already gotten their NOA1. (I know, right??)

So basically, yes, everybody's case is handled differently, despite being in the same visa class, country, or service center. Some case workers are more thorough than others, so if your case lands on their hands, then it can take just a bit longer.

Everything turned out just fine, and I'm going in for my interview on March 28th. I completely understand how you feel, though!! I know I needed someone to reassure me that everything will be just fine (as opposed to feeding my paranoia!! I have enough paranoia to last me a lifetime, thank you very much.)

I drove myself insane!! I had been until a couple of weeks ago before going in for my medical. Don't do the same to yourself! ?

Good luck!!! ?

Such kind words, thank you and absolutely spot on! It's good to hear how it works behind the scenes, that's quite reassuring because you do get paranoid thinking that there's something wrong with the application and you're going to be refused at the first step, and that's AFTER the paranoia of making sure you've got your petition absolutely bang on to begin with!

Oh and then there's the medical..... then the interview itself.... so I'm taking it one step at a time and I'm now just going to sit back and wait without (outwardly) panicking.

Good luck with yours!! I will be keeping everything crossed for you also, I hope you sail through and I see your approval on the timeline on March 28th and we can do a happy dance.
