Hi everyone! I'm a bit confused while doing my I864 form. I'm unemployed and we are filing our taxes jointly with my husband.

What should I answer on question 18a?

How about question 19 a,b,c?Thanks!

If you look at the header of that page https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864.pdf, This is the affidavit of support; most if not all of this form is in perspective of the USC/sponsor not the immigrant.

It clearly states 'sponsors' employment and income' so this is respective to your husband whom I assume is the USC and your sponsor.

So 18a did he file a return the last 3 years? y/n? I presume yes.

19a/b/c, the AGI as provided on his returns he should be able to provide.

Actually I'am the sponsor and my husband will be the co sponsor but since i'm unemployed, i'm a bit confused on part 6 question 18a.

I'm not sure what's your confusion. Did you file tax returns for the last 3 years? If you filed jointly or separately, then you filed. Whether you are unemployed is independent of whether you filed tax returns. If you didn't file a tax return for any of the last 3 years, you check that box. In 19a-c, you fill in exactly the number from the "total income" line from your tax return for the last 3 years (again, your tax return, no matter if you filed jointly or separately; if you filed jointly, yes, it will be the "total income" for the both of you).
