Hello, my fiance is almost here and we're wondering about her driving here using a Mexican drivers license. (we'll be living in Louisiana it it makes a difference) Once she gets here will she be required to take drivers ed and get a Louisiana drivers license right from the start or how much time do we have?

Louisiana has a website about this stuff, have you studied it, from a PC?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I was a Mexican au pair in New Mexico. I was using my international driver license until it was not valid. Some au pairs told me I could use my Mexican driver license for 6 months while I got the New Mexico one. It was not true. At least that´s what the officer told me when I showed it to him. He said my Mexican driver license was not valid in USA.

In the MVD they asked me to take the written test, but not the practice test because I had already a driver license. Read the information from the MVD website of your state.
