RENEWING PHILIPPINE PASSPORT WITHOUT FILING ROM

Thanks everyone---Looks like this will be the path I'm going to take: Renew passport in my maiden name and deal with the ROM in the future. Otherwise I will be running around like a chicken with its head cut off - which isn't very pretty nor practical as the distance between Washington DC and where I live (Winston-Salem) is not negligible!

Phil Embassy in Wash DC will not renew a passport without the ROM completed. They do not budge. I am aware that other Consulate ie Los Angeles will do both at the same time but no no no, Wash DC will not.

Greenbaum,

How long did it take for your ROM take to get approved? How about the passport renewal?

The ROM only took about 4 weeks. We have yet to complete her passport as it doesn't expire for another 5 years so we are going to let that ride. Right now we are working through ROC.

BTW there are outreach programs. Check PE Wash DC website for details. http://www.philippineembassy-usa.org/news/4816/60/Consular-Outreach-Mission-in-Virginia-Beach-VA-on-19-Mar-2016/

The Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C., in cooperation with the Philippine Cultural Center is pleased to announce that it will conduct a consular outreach mission in Virginia Beach on:

And, more frustratingly so, is that there doesn't seem to be any logic whatsoever in the answers.

All I can say is welcome to the Philippines, as you re-enter it every time you visit a consulate.

Hi just wanna ask, what if you send not enough requirements for filing a ROM, should they send it to you back the whole stuff you send to them and do they will let you know or leave a note what requirements you lack when they send it back to you?

Thanks..

Don't know the answer on that one, not sure if they handle it by asking for the missing documents or send the whole package back. If you did this... keep us updated as to what the consulate did, then we will know for next time. Thanks

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!

When I sent in the ROM for my wife I had inadvertently missed a paper of what was needed. So they called my wife and then she had them call me, they told me what I was missing and I emailed it to them right away. So yes they will contact you if your missing something.
