Hello everybody!

We realized one of the forms -the to be exact- asks for the beneficiary -or is it petitioner?- parents information.

For us is an issue, being a same-sex couple, I haven't come out to my parents and thus, they have no idea I'm about to get married.

Will the Consulate contact them in any way? I mean why do they ask their information for? We're very nervous they might come to know about our relationship and purposes. it wouldn't be safe for me.

We appreciate any comment or tip :)!

More an issue for the veracity of the relationship if family and friends are unaware.

Why would it not be safe?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Well, her family and both our friends are aware of our relationship, just not my family... They are very religious and homophobic and it would be chaotic if they know about us, and we dont need that stress... ):

That's right.

Maybe take care of this first before filing any petition?

Will the Consulate contact them in any way?

It's possible, been known to happen, but very rarely.

I mean why do they ask their information for?

To verify your background and any connections to evil-doers.

We're very nervous they might come to know about our relationship and purposes. it wouldn't be safe for me.
