Hi guys, my Ghanaian fiancé applied for a Ghanaian biometric passport about 7 months ago and up till now he hasn't received it yet. He applied for an expedited one and surprisingly it's not yet in. I thought it was going to take 9 working days. Now I, the petitioner am very worried. Does it take that long? Please help me with any ideas on what I can do. Thanks.

My fiance had a similar issue. His original passport was stolen, so he had to apply for a new one. Took about 8 or 9 months to issue it... I thought it was just because he had to go through some extra steps in reporting it stolen, but I guess that's the case with just routine passport applications too. I don't know really what was going on, because he also applied for expedited, but he finally got it in October 2015.

I don't know what's really going on over there. It's so frustrating.

I was in Ghana in December and paid 600ghc through a connection man to get a passport for my wife and daughter. They said it will take 1-2 weeks. I got my wife's own after a month and one week whilst my daughter's has still not been issued. They claim there are issues with network connection between the application centre and processing centre. and also claim the printer has been down for a while. How pathetic!

It is pathetic! They gave him some sort of receipt with a date on it to go for it but each time he goes there they tell him to come another time with a new date with an absurd excuse that the printers have broken down. I don't get it. Last week my fiancé told me he spoke to a connection man and he was demanding 900ghc. But we haven't decided to use the connection man yet. This is frustrating

I get your frustration and i have been frustrated too. The last time i renewed my passport this same person helped me and it only took 3 days to get so don't know why it is taking that long. I'm tempted to believe the issue with the printers might be true but that's very disappointing.

Once your fiance's information has been entered and processed if your fiance can get anyone at the processing center to facilitate or expedite printing of the book that would be great. 900ghc seems a huge amount for me considering the information has already been put in the system

He got his three years ago, but I asked him about your post and he said if you do it alone it can take forever, yes they used a connection person, he said that is how Ghana works, which sadly I've seen it first hand

Lots of people are getting the "new passport" so it takes a bit long. However, If you grease some palms(unfortunately), you get it faster, if not, you will have to wait for lazy folks in bureaucratic uniform to play pomposity on your application..

Hey, could you kindly give me your connection man's contact?
