Hi,

I called NVC yesterday and had received my Case # and I tracked the Case # in the CEAC website and it says that my case is in transit to the consular section and my interview date was provided by the NVC.

When i called the NVC, they gave me Case # and told me that the case has been mailed via DHL to the New Delhi Consulate on Feb 18th.

My questions are:

1. What is the approximate time that New Delhi will receive the application packet?

2. Will my Fiance and I receive a copy of the packet as well??

3. Does New Delhi let you choose interview dates or already give one to you?

4. How long till I receive mail from NVC confirming that my case is in transit to Consulate?

5. NVC also gave me invoice #, where can I pay for this?

6. What can we expect the interview to be scheduled at the earliest? (we have a marriage date set on April 22 2016).

7. Can my Fiance do his medical exam in Hyderabad as he lives there?

8. My fiancé is in Hyderabad and i saw online that new delhi doesn't give visa on the same day. Will the visa be mailed to my fiancé in hyd once it is approved during the interview? or will he have to wait in New delhi for a couple of days to pick it up?

Any answers to any of the questions are much appreciated!! The wait has been ridiculous but some parts are kind of fuzzy and different posts have different experiences so its hard to figure it all out, thanks.

Welcome to the forum. Because so many of your questions are specific to India, your thread is moved from the Embassy/Consulate forum to the India regional forum. Someone should be along to help with answers.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi Ladyrara, Here are the answers

- Packets are received by consulates between 15-30 days

2. Will my Fiance and I receive a copy of the packet as well?? - your fiance will receive a packet from the consulate, but you will not

3. Does New Delhi let you choose interview dates or already give one to you? - Interviews dates are to be scheduled once the DS-260 is filled online (you can choose)

4. How long till I receive mail from NVC confirming that my case is in transit to Consulate? - will receive it within a week

5. NVC also gave me invoice #, where can I pay for this? - What invoice number are you talking about and what do you want to pay?

6. What can we expect the interview to be scheduled at the earliest? (we have a marriage date set on April 22 2016). - Its good to decide upon a wedding date, but you are cutting it too close. You can set the appointment within the next week upon paying the DS-260 fee

7. Can my Fiance do his medical exam in Hyderabad as he lives there?- yes he can. Please ask him to find out is the Apollo hospital in HYD does K1Visa Medical. He can get his shots and do all of the medical checks there in 6 hours!

8. My fiancé is in Hyderabad and i saw online that new delhi doesn't give visa on the same day. Will the visa be mailed to my fiancé in hyd once it is approved during the interview? or will he have to wait in New delhi for a couple of days to pick it up? - It will take 5-10 days for them to get the visa ready. He can leave from ND, get back home and wait for an email and a call. The Fiance Visa sealed envelope along with his passport and visa will be sent to the nearest Visa Collection Service that can be found on the Embassy website (which he has to choose when he is setting up the appointment). He would have to go there and collect it. He has to check the visa on the passport for any errors. If none, then carry the PP and the sealed envelope back with him.

He cannot at any circumstances open or damage the sealed envelope given by the embassy. He has to hand that over to the IO at the POE in the US.

Any answers to any of the questions are much appreciated!! The wait has been ridiculous but some parts are kind of fuzzy and different posts have different experiences so its hard to figure it all out, thanks.
