Hi all! When visa is issued is it safe to go to social sec office to see or call them to know if there is already a number that is assigned? Thank you!

I-130 NOA1 : 2015-08-06

I-130 Approved : 2015-09-01

Received by NVC: 2015-09-24

hi

if 2 or 3 weeks have passed since you've arrived and you haven't received it in the mail, then you can go to your nearest office and apply for one

Not at the airport, no. It will arrive in the mail if you have selected that option or you can go to the office and apply after a few weeks. You need to allow time for your arrival to be added to the database.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

 

Now a US citizen!

Hi evryone !!

I'm just reading your post and I do have the same question, because I arrived in Usa in 23th January and didn't get my SSN yet ! when I went to the office, they just told me to wait until I recieved my greencard, so they can provide one ! And i'm so confused because I don't know if it's really true! since I've chosen to recieve my SNN and CD by mail in my visa aplication !!!

Any reply would be appreciate!!

You have a green card. The endorsed visa in your passport is a green card. If you dont get the SSN within 2-3 weeks then go to the SSA office and get one. It will not be sent to you automatically.

Also have you paid the immigrant fee of $165 on ELIS?
