The NVC never sent me a notice letter informing me that they had sent our packet to the embassy. I had to call them when I realized it had been over 30 days since I had received the notice of approval. Once I called, they could not explain to me why I had not gotten the notice and I asked for them to send me one. They then informed me they had sent our packet to the embassy on Jan. 15! They gave me our case # and said I should call the embassy in Ghana for further inquiries.

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Email the Embassy and request a Call-In-Letter so the beneficiary can go to the Embassy and pick up packets 3 & 4. Packet 4 will have the interview date.

You probably have to double check the mailing address you used. Some folks use other addresses or change address through the process but NVC will always send out a notice. Maybe it got lost but they always send out notice. Since you have the numbers you need, contact the embassy like LoveinGhana! stated.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I called NVC again and I asked for our case # again, just to make sure that I didn't copy it down wrong the first time, I didn't lol, The reason I asked for the case # again is because when I would go to check the status online, it would say invalid case #. After the second call I made to them, I put in the number again and our status came up saying our petition was interview ready. That day I asked my fiancé to check his mailbox, he hadn't checked it in a while because we were both expecting me to get a notice first, and there was his call-in letter! He just went in this morning to pick up his packets and his interview is April 6! I am excited and nervous! Please send positive vibes our way so that our outcome is a happy one!!

Thanks!

It happens to more people than you would realize. The important thing is that you now know your DOS case file number and that your file in being sent to, or will shortly arrive at, the interviewing embassy/consulate.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
