Hello everybody!

We're new in this amazing forum and we have 1 question to start things; Anyone who experienced this K1-Visa process who has a same sex relationship? -Preferably Mex-US relationship-

Welcome! Your experience really should not differ from any other K-1 filers, due to your relationship being same-sex. I can't speak to anything specific to Mexico, but we didn't feel there was any bias against us, from filing our petition through to our marriage at the County Clerk's chapel. Even the folks at her consulate and the CO at her POE were very kind. We are a same-sex couple.

08/14/2015: NOA1 received by email; hardcopy received approximately 08/17/2015
09/14/2015: NOA2 received
09/30/2015: NVC received case
10/02/2015: CEAC status changed to "In Transit"
10/08/2015: CEAC status changed to "Ready"
10/09/2015: Consulate acknowledged receipt via phone; Hardcopy from US DoS with case number.
10/19/2015: Received information from Consulate.
10/28/2015: Medical Exam
11/17/2015: Interview...rescheduled due to computer problems. New date as yet unknown.
11/18/2015: Called in for interview and APPROVED!

11/24/2015: Picked up visa/passport and sealed packet from the Consulate! <happy dance>

02/14/2016: Arrived in the U.S. (POE was Bermuda)...CO was really nice!

02/18/2016: Married! :)

03/14/2016: I-485/765/131 NOAs received by mail. USCIS Received Date 03/04/2016; USCIS Notice Date 03/10/2016
03/25/2016: Received biometrics appointment letter for I-485 & I-765
04/04/2016: Biometrics appointment
04/26/2016: Received notification that the I-131 was approved and the name was updated on the I-765
05/23/2016: Received notice that card was being produced for I-765.
05/28/2016: Received EAD/AP card.
06/01/2016: Received electronic notice that AOS interview has been scheduled.
06/30/2016: I-485 interview at USCIS Baltimore Field Office.
09/01/2016: InfoPass appointment made for 09/07/2016.
09/06/2016: Received electronic notification that I-485 was approved on 09/02/2016.
09/09/2016: Received approval letter.
09/14/2016: Green Card delivered! :)

06/13/2018: I-751 package mailed to Vermont Service Center
06/25/2018: NOA/extension letter received, dated 06/19/2018

07/14/2018: Received ASC notice for Biometrics Appointment

07/25/18: Completed Biometrics

06/13/19: Received email notification of card production. I-751 approved!

Another same-sex K-1 filer here, though we are US-UK. I'm waiting for my interview at the embassy but so far it hasn't been an issue. As long as you an evidence your relationship well you're good to go, and it doesn't seem like they want a different standard of proof just because of sexuality.

And another here. We are US-India and have known each other for 9 years. So the duration does play an important role, otherwise the K-1 filing and all other processes involved are the same.

I'm amazed at all the same-sex couples who are now finally able to establish a life together with their U.S. Citizen partner here in the U.S.!

Right after DOMA fell in June 2013, my partner and I had to wait for regulations from USCIS and the Dept of State regarding fiancé visas for same-sex couples and clearance from our lawyer (Lavi Soloway of Masliah & Soloway) before finally filing our I-129F fiancé visa petition in August 2013.

Conditional Permanent Resident: 16 September 2014

Conditional GC Expires: 16 September 2016

ROC Journey (CA Service Center)

2016-Sep-14: I-751 form, check, supporting docs sent USPS Priority Express

2016-Sep-15: ROC application received & signed for by Lakelieh

2016-Sep-15: NOA receipt date

2016-Sep-19: $590 check cashed by USCIS

2016-Sep-20: NOA/ 1-year extension letter received in mail

2018-Feb-26: ROC case transferred to local office

2018-Mar-06: ROC approved via USCIS website (WAC status check)

Yea same sex couple here, Philippines-US.

We haven't had any issues yet, just waiting on NVC number and then booking the remaining things(medical, interview and such).

08/15/2014 : Met Online

06/30/2016 : I-129F Packet Sent

11/08/2016 : Interview - APPROVED!

11/23/2016 : POE - Dallas, Texas

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

 

02/03/2017 - Married 

02/24/2017 - AOS packet sent

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

Same sex couple here too.... lots of stories are so inspiring..... we are fortunate that we can do this in the USA.... the process seems so intense and confusing.... We are just over 30 days now 

K-1 Visa

03/06/17- I-129F mailed to Lewisville, TX
03/09/17 - Delivered at Lewisville, TX

03/12/17 - Check cashed
03/14/17 - NOA1 Text and Email. Case to California office
03/16/17 - NOA1 Hard Copy Received
xx/xx/17- NOA2 Text and Email Never came 
06/26/17 - NOA2 Hard Copy Received and it is still has no message on the USCIS site
07/1817 - NVC Received I-129F 
07/19/17 - Case Number Received I called 3x and it had been
07/21/17 - Embassy Received. Case status set as Ready
07/24/17 - Received NVC letter hard copy from NVC

07/26/17   Embassy sends Packet 3 registered mail

07/27/17   Returned Package 3 to Embassy 
08/01/17 - Medical 

08/15/17   I fly to Singapore to see him and be at the consulate with him for interview
08/23/17 - Interview 

8/23/17     Adminstrative processing for an original receipt for the DS 160 payment

9/13/17     2nd Interview

9/13/17      Admin Processing for name change, name was out of order Asian name put in American order and it was wrong on I 134

                     also need a Police Clearance from Australia,  he went to school there in 2008 need to prove was not there more than 12 months                           could not prove as it was 3 passports ago... so delay to get police clearance

11/6/17       Status updated to ISSUED

09/19/17 - Long Beach Home... this is my return date, he will join me on this flight if the K1 Approved
