Preparing for I-129F Petition question.

I know this is going to sound silly, but my significant other and I are planning on sending out our petition this weekend (yay!)

I do have a question though, in regards to preparing the entirety of the petition.

Is it better to have more or less within the petition in regards to having met within the last 2 years?

For example, we have about over 100 bank statements with highlighted purchases, indicating transactions that have been made in either one's general location.

Is it better to condense and select only a few (Say a bank statement earlier this year, mid year, and most recent?) or just send all of the information?

From my perspective, if I worked at an office and got one giant assignment I needed to look through and 2 little assignments, I'd look at the little 2 first.

So in other words, should I just cram my petition full of information/evidence or try to trim a little fat?

We only live an hour away from each other.

(I'm in Ontario, Canada. The petitioner is in Buffalo, NY.)

Thanks in advance!

100 bank pages will be too much for the person who go through you petition. What else do you have as proof?

Okay. So it IS better to trim? Thank-you!

So, this is what we have:

-Petitioner's bank statements.

-Beneficiary's bank statements.

-Toronto Zoo tickets order confirmation.

-Niagara Aquarium receipt and itinerary.

-Proof of maintenance conducted on beneficiary's and petitioner's vehicle in New York State.

-Photographs of petitioner and beneficiary. (Signed and dated) **In this we also have a photo we took in a photo booth at the Niagara Aquarium.

-Statements of having met in person from Petitioner's family members. (Signed and dated)

Then we were going to add in stuff for proof of ongoing relationship: (If we need to trim, then I was going to do 1 skype chat for every month, and maybe an email from 1 month?)

Skype Logs.

Email logs.

Paypal transfers.

Gym membership.

Nerd Block being shipped to my house.

Amazon orders sent to the other person's house.

So I don't need to add in the skype logs and stuff? Because honestly, that would be a relief! hahaha.

But this stuff is good? If we trim the bank statements?

Do you have any passportstamps?

Yeah you don't want to send in 100 pages bankstatements poor person who has to view it ;)

You can add a few things of skypelogs if you want to but they just want to make sure you have met in person within the 2 years.

Write on the back of the pictures where they were taken and who is in the pictures :)

And welcome as an February filer :)

So the thing is, no I do not have any passport stamps that would be usable for the petition.

My significant other and I cross through the Peace Bridge border to see one another, as it's the fastest way to get to each other.

I do have a passport, I purchased it for the purpose of the petition. But I use my Enhanced Driver's license to travel to and from his house.

When I received my passport, I got it stamped at the Peace Bridge border without any issue, going into the USA.

The second time when I asked to get my passport stamped, the officer said that they actually do NOT stamp passports at this crossing for proof of travel.

When I showed him my stamp he said that the officer made a mistake and it wasn't the right type of stamp.

So then I just kind of gave up with that idea and I don't want to add it into the petition to confuse things.

I think they will realize why there are no stamps from a simple letter. I've been to Victoria a couple times (via Seattle) and my passport never gets stamped. I know as a USC we also have the option to get a passport card to travel to and from Canada and Mexico so if your Enhanced Driver's License is similar to that I would just include a copy.

Key ingredient - make it stupid simple for them to figure out that you have been together. If you are showing bank statements, write a small narrative to help the officer understand the connection. Hey look at page 5 on my bank statement, I made a purchase at the X hotel in Canada where my fiancé lives, etc.

Hi all,

I did quite a bit of front loading with my I-129F including basically what you included (probably 150 pages of evidence that we had met - it was ridiculously easy to put together though as I've always kept copies in a file just in case I ever needed it at all). Having so much material didn't seem add any time from NOA1 to NOA2 (approved in 32 days).

However, I have no idea if it will annoy the person who interviews me at the embassy in London though. Hopefully not but we shall see. Anybody have any trouble with having *too much evidence* for the embassy?

Good luck.

Simon.
