Cases are usually at the consulate/embassy within one week from the date they leave the NVC here in the states. Cases that ship out on Friday are usually in transit and sit in one country on late Saturday or Sunday and then resume their journey. Once the cases are delivered to the consulate/embassy they have to matched up to the the electronic files and then entered into the system. Once that occurs they will be able to give you information on your case status. Good luck.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

Tracking DHL from NVC to Embassy:

1. Go to http://www.dhl-usa.com/home/home.asp

2. Click on "Track"

3. Click on "Track by Reference"

4. A "Track it by reference" form will come up. Next to "Reference" type in "CORRESPONDENCE"

5. In the "Shipment pickup date range" put in the date the NVC said they mailed off your package (if it was shipped out on March 8, you can put the date range as March 7 - 9)

6. In the box "Origin Postal Code" type in "03801"

7. Press on the red "Track" button

Several pages of results will come up. Look through the "Receiver's Name" for your Embassy. There might be several packages going to your embassy - but you won't know which one is yours. Anyway, most sent on the same day will arrive the same day. Press on the red "Tracking number" and up will come a page showing where it is now.

Good luck for a speedy rest of the process

That no one can say!

I can only say from my own experience: Chennai, India received my case from NVC on 26 Feb and I was in the system by 28 Feb. Quite impressive, maybe (hopefully!) Islamabad is similiar!
