I call DOS today to check status on Adils visa. The lady was really nice when I called. She stated that everything went well in the interview there was not any negatives. Then I asked her about security checks and she said they were not completed yet. IM CONFUSED> I called Thursday the lady told me they were but now this lady says there not and she then told me to call back in 2 weeks. UGHHHHH!!!! :crying::( I dont want to wait.

I got another question. When you guys sent in I129f did you include your criminal records background. I sent in my fiances but i didnt send in mine because It didnt ask for one. DO you think this could be what they are checking?

Also I think my fiance did a boo boo. We had a fiance party while I was in Morocco this summer and I was wearing a wedding dress. He took those pictures to the consule and he explained to them that it was a fiance party.

Just quick late update, I have been reading everyone writes there experince at the consult. Her is Adils

He had the blond girl.

She asked him about my daughter.

I was there for 3 months this summer she asked him why I didnt bring my daughter?

He told her, her dad would not allow her to get a passport and she went to florida with her Grandma

she asked how old my daughter is?

she asked to see the picture?

Adil says she was nice and they laughed and seemed to have a good interview. At the end she said the consult will call him.

This is all I remember Adil told me.

don't try to make more worry for yourself than you need to. It sounds as if your fiance is in the routine security checks. The engagement pictures and any criminal background check on you are not part of the process at this level. The checks need to verify your SO against the database of names. Sometimes there is some false name hits and it takes time to comepletly sort through them one by one. When they are finished (if they haven't already) the DOS will know.

I am sorry you are getting confusing answers, but it sounds as if you are good to go for the visa, just pending this one last hurdle. Some take a wekk or so and others a few months. In rare cases it could take longer. Lots of people who had to wait through this part of the process, so you can get some good shoulders to lean on!

They do check the petitioner as well for the K-1. This I know because at our AOS interview I was scanning the case file on the guy's desk. I had seen where my background check had happened and two that were listed for my husband. I was amazed at what they keep in that file -- even the mailing packages you send the paperwork in!
