I received a checklist for birth certificate with both parents names however i dont know where my father is. Some good advice on what to do would be appreciated. Has anyone had the same problem

Maybe they only want to see the parent name who is filing for you on it , so if it is your mom who is filing for you her name would be on the certificate and that should do for the NVC.

My daughter birth certificate says "nil" in place of father. He never was a part of her life only my name on her birth certificate. *Knock wood* no problem so far and we have interview Wednesday. On the Ds260 where it ask info about the father I put his name only don't know where him is.

Only your mom name is important if that's the case, you would only

have an issue if at some point you try to petition him, then they would

likely request DNA proofs & on going relationship during yourt formative

yrs like child support proofs, cards & letters to you, attendance to school

activities etc...otherwise you have no current issue
