my fiance just noticed on her visa that they put down the wrong date of birth, do we really need to go back and correct it, or can we honeslty play dumb and say oh my i didnt noticed it was incorrect, because i think the only person who will notice it is here in the state, i know flying out from dominican republic woouldnt be a porblem. she can still fly out. but is it a big thing and she should go and correct it at the embassy? and wait for another corrected visa? how long will that take? and sorry if i placed this post in the wrong section seems right.

Please take it back and get it corrected immediately. The moment the visa pack is issued, the issuing agent always asks to check the visa and tell them if anything is wrong and needs to be corrected. Playing dumb will not help later when ou guys need to apply for EAD/ AP and GC. SO get it done now. It doesnt take long - usually gets done in a week's time.

Yes, get it corrected now. It can cause more problems at POE and then getting your SSN if the I-94 information is incorrect and a whole slew of issues. It's best to do it now and nip it in the bud.

did she send you a scan of it ?

example - birthday 5 March, 1992,

written how?

1. 5/3/1992 or

2. 3/5/1992

or

something else?

or is it indeed, a typo ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Check with Darnell's comment.

If that is not the problem then call the embassy to schedule appointment to go back in and have them fix it.

Don't ignore it...

my sibling was issued an expired visa, I scheduled an appointment and they took the passport back and issued another visa within 3 days...Mistakes like that are rare but mistakes happen on their side. So get it fixed before you travel.
