CENOMAR won't be necessary but you'll be needing a CEMAR (certificate of marriage) which is different from Marriage certificate

My wife told me that the municipality told her she doesn't need it because we are married. They told her that the k1 visa required it.

At any rate we have the expired one that proves my wife wasn't married until we got married.

How would we even get a proof of non marriage anyways when we've been married since June?

"Also as I mentioned before if your plan is to live (domicile) with your joint sponsor when you arrive in the US you'll need a I-864a and that one I have read needs to be notarized by the joint sponsor and signed by you in front of a consulate official."

There may be a technicality there. A friend of mine last year listed the same address as his co-sponsor, and brought a letter from the co-sponsor that he stayed with them when he was in the States, and that he and his wife would stay there until they got an apartment of their own. And there was no co-mingling of finances. He did not have to do a i-864a for the co-sponsors i-864.

I just wanted to add that I think having separate tax filings would prove separate households for the purpose of the i-864

Question,

I need to have an i864 and the joint sponsor also has to fill out an i864 or just the I864A?

It's my understanding that you'll need a I-864 for yourself and one from the joint sponsor also.

You'll need the I864A if you plan to reside with the joint sponsor once you arrive in the US.

Many of the forms I/we have signed state they do not need to be notarized for above mentioned reasons however I do not see this on the I-864A form and as I mentioned before the affidavit is not required but helpful and should be notarized..

If you have everything ready to go if it was me I'd keep your appointment and find out rather than postponing it.

Personally I've just sent all my papers to the US to have them mailed back to me so I will get mine notarized to be on the safe side.

As you mentioned before it's complicated to know what is next after the DS-260 but the way it reads your case is transferred to another dept. (DoS??), but since it's DCF???

I would have a folder with all your original docs as well as one with copies as if you have never passed any papers before.

I would also have a full copy of your DS-260.

My wife (filipina) says the cenomar includes past and present marriage and you can get it at any NSO office in under a week???

I wasn't satisfied with the way my forms were going in regard to the I-864 / I-864A so I made a new post "I-864 / I-864A".

According to answers in this new post I was Way Off on the process I had learned both here and at other sites and now I believe the correct info is in that post regarding the proper way to fill out theses forms.
