DCF I-130 Filed today at Manila USEM

Yea it was a pretty quick process. In just a week we got our case number through email without me having to call them or send follow up emails

They took lots of docs and one that seemed to help was myself listed on my wife's PhilHealth policy.

They took all our pics and yeah I'm surprised by what you say they took, or didn't take from you.

First was the conformation email from USCIS 6 business days after I applied with the MNL case #, next day was an email from DoS with a conformation and a welcome letter, next was an actual letter from DHS / USCIS "Approval notice".

Thankfully I didn't wait for the "packet" and proceeded from my 1st email to finish my DS-260.

I was told when I submitted my I-130 it would be 30 to 90 days but have read where people say to call and check.

I figured after a month or so I would start calling. I was very surprised to have not 1 but 3 conformations with-in 2 weeks.

I also note that EACH on of them contains incorrect information on how to proceed DCF.

It would be SOOOO much easier if they provide correct information!!!

They say that one can finish DCF filling in 3 months.

If we had know all the correct procedures when we started I believe we could have done it much faster.

Still we filled our I-130 on Feb 17th and were approved in 6 business days. The DS-260 the same night.

If I had correctly understood how to file at that time I would have had my I-864 ready sooner but as it is with the delay (10 day shipping from the US) our interview is still set for March 22nd. My wife will start her medical on March 14th and all papers from the US (once I figured out how to fill them out correctly) should be here by March 18th.

I hope all will go well and we should have a decision by March 22nd, only 5 weeks later. There was an appointment available March 4th but we were still figuring out how to proceed with the paperwork. If we had known we could have been finished in about 3 weeks.

DCF, especially in Manila can be done very quickly if you know what your doing! :wow:

So your finished with the medical in just 2 days not 3?

We've heard Again different things, that it takes 2 days, it takes 3 days, and up to 2 weeks?

Did getting there so early help, and if so where did you go exactly to wait (stand in line)? 7hrs :(

If we go on Monday do we then go back Wednesday or?

We've heard the wait time after the 1st day is 48 to 72 hours?

We're in Tagaytay so travel time is usually a couple hours.

Thanks!

Yeap finished it in 2 days.

It takes more than 2 days if you fail the x-ray and they see something in your lungs then they'll have you do the sputum test which will delay the process for two months and can delay an applicant further (up to 6 months) if they test positive in TB test which is the sputum.

It helps a lot to go there early. We're from ortigas and the traffic is really bad so we decided to get a hotel. I got there at around 4 am and there are tons of people already. You'll wait in line outside the clinic then at exactly 4.30 am the guard will start letting people in and check the documents you have and give you number. Then at 5.30 am they start the process. If you have completed a form online you'll go straight to doing biometrics.

If you go Monday you go back Tuesday for the result. The guard will either stamp your receipt fot Immunisation of for Sputum. If he stamp it for Immusation that means you passed the medical exam.

So your finished with the medical in just 2 days not 3?

@Lhanz0729

Hi! Just wondering..Did the consul asked for your passport when you filed your application? I'm just afraid they would ask my passport coz i don't have it yet. :(

Hi, I'm not Lhanz0729 but thought I could help you out. It's not listed as one of the requirements, but the lady (not consul) did ask for a photocopy of the bio page of my passport. Luckily I had a photocopy of it. You can let them know that you don't have it yet and if you could just email it to them once ready? Is there a hold up on your passport delivery?

Yes your passport/s are supporting documents for both the I-130 and the G-325A's.

I'm a bit puzzled, You got an appointment without sending in the packet 3 Docs? I thought they had to have the DS 2001 to get an appointment

There is a lot of miss-information out there which took me a while to navigate.

Filing DCF.. first you will submit your I-130 & G-325A's including supporting documents.

Once approved USCIS will send you a conformation email. I've heard some get a case # with that, others have to wait & or call.

Once you get your case # "MNLxxxxxxxxxx" (if like us in your 1st email) then you follow the link in that email and fill out your DS-260 (actual visa application), print out your receipt (we also printed the complete form). Don't try to pay for it on-line. You will pay all fees at the consulate except your medical.

The next step is to make your interview appointment.

Beware before you go to your interview you'll need to fill out your I-864 and get your medical done at Saint Lukes.

I would suggest you complete your I-864 and get All your supporting documents before you make your interview appointment.

I suggest you act like you never filed the I-130 and have 2 folders of docs for your interview, one with originals and one with copies.

Once you have all of that make your interview appointment.

Some recommend allowing 2 weeks for your medical but we never read that until we had finished the on-line registration at Saint Lukes. We allowed only one week which was fine since it only took 2 days.

I did receive another email from DoS the next day.

Also I seem to be one of the few who received an actual letter from DHS.

If you follow all the info on the emails you received you'll most definitely get lost.

It seems they don't always consider DCF.

I have several threads of my own and others I follow that you can look at for more specific details.

:wow: If I had this info when I started I could have finished it All in under 3 weeks...

Good Luck!

I was able to set an appointment as soon as I received the email stating that my petition has been approved, said email also has my case number. It only took them 10 days including weekends to approve our I-130.

I think for DCF in Manila USEM you don't have to send any packets and you just have to bring all the documents on your interview.

The entire process is really fast. You even get to pick the schedule/appointment that best works for you as soon as the i-130 gets approved and completed DS-260.

Hi, bellashay. I have an appointment at the DFA a week after we file @ USEm Manila. Just wondering if we could just show my appoinment letter/filling copy of my passport to them? Will that work? Hope so..

You can't even schedule here in Thailand until they are sure you have sent all your paperwork. And from what I understand, you can't even get the medical until you are sent packet 4 with the scheduled appointment. Maybe that is why I have heard the interviews are really short here since they have examined your docs before hand. Its a bit risky here anyway. The police here will give you a date to pickup the police report, which now is 6 weeks out, and they will not contact you to inform you if it is done sooner. Your best bet is to have them send it to you, but you still do not know when you will get it before that 6 week date.

Not sure if it is not an absolute requirement to have the beneficiary's passport during the initial filing. Give USCIS a call to be certain 301- 2000 :)
