Another Proof of Income Question!

My fiancée just started a new job and is having trouble getting a letter from her new employer as proof of income (company policy is that all these requests go through HR, which has a massive backlog).

I have two questions:

1. In this thread someone mentioned using their work contract instead of a letter - could this be a scan or a copy, or would it have to be the original?

2. In the same thread it was confirmed that London accepts self-sponsorship. Would this involve me filling out an Affidavit of Support for myself, or should I just bring along proof of my assets alongside the Affidavit and other proof from my fiancée?

1. If the contract states something that can be calculated into a yearly income, the employer, and such then it proves income. I think they would accept a scan. Does she have any pay stubs to back it up?

2. A beneficiary does not fill in an I-134. He brings documentation of assets. They would consider your assets alone or in conjunction with an I-134 and documentation from the petitioner. The law only states they must be convinced you will not become a public charge. Convince them. The requirements later when you adjust status will be more structured. Keep working on the employment letter for that.

Excellent, that's exactly what I was hoping. The sale of my flat is about to go through so I feel relatively calm about being able to convince them. I'll ask my fiancée to scan me her contract and to scan in pay stubs each time she gets them. (Have you ever thought about retraining as an immigration lawyer, Nich-Nick? Assuming you're not one already!)
