Hello, I am trying to get everything ready for my adjustment of status, I came here with a K-1 Visa and already got married in November and I am really confused about the I-693 Form, I had my medical done in Juarez, Mexico back in September, they gave me the sealed enveloped and I gave it to the people that did my interview for my approval of my Fiance Visa, so I don't have anything from the medical with me, I am living in San Diego, what do I have to do with the form, how can I get in contact with the Doctor all the way in Juarez? do I need to send this form? Do I need to go see another Doctor here in San Diego? I don't understand, thanks for your help guys!!!

Same issue happened with my husband when he moved here. He did not need a medical examination since he just had one in Juarez (and it was less than a year), however you still have to fill out the vaccination part of the I-693. We had his Cartilla Nacional De Vacunacion translated and then took that to the civil surgeon. We ended up having to have blood tests done to show immunity to varicella (chicken pox) and MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella) and then the civil surgeon was able to complete the vaccination part of I-693. It was $25.00 for the civil surgeon to transcribe onto the USCIS form.

Hope that helps!

You will need to see a civil surgeon to get the required vaccinations and have them marked off on an I-693. Juarez doesn't do vaccinations for K-1 applicants. Some people get a useless blank DS-3025. See this post > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/551080-immunizations-ds-3025-or-i-693/

You may have to call around to find a civil surgeon that will do the vaccinations only. There is a long going thread here on VJ to help with finding one > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/231026-civil-surgeons-who-dont-rip-you-off/page-15

~ Moved from K-1 Process to AOS from Family Based Visas - topic is AOS, not K-1 ~

Hi there,

Since you gave the medical envelope to the CO at the consulate, that would be the last of it. You dont have to fill out I-693. This form is only for people who have not done their medical tests in their homeland before attending the visa interview.

Hope this helps.

This is incorrect for the OP. They had their medical in Juarez, and Juarez does not give vaccinations to K-1 applicants. The OP needs to see a civil surgeon to get the missing vaccinations and have them marked off on an I-693. They do not need a new medical, but they do need the required vaccinations for AOS.

Your response is conflicting. You said they do not give vaccinations to K-1 applicants in India either, but then said you did get the vaccinations at your medical. Juarez does not give vaccinations at the K-1 medical, so the OP still needs to get them for AOS.

What KayDeeCee said. we just went through that process two years ago. Good luck finding a civil surgeon who will complete the form for a fair price. We ended up paying a few hundred dollars to the civil surgeon to complete the form.

Meant to say that we did not have the necessary medical records since the med records are still antiquated in India! So at the medical, we were given the necessary age appropriate shots!!!
