Hi all. I have my visa in hand and I'm flying out of the U.K at the end of this month. My question is - do we have to be married to apply for AOS and advanced parole? I assume we do but wondering if we can file it all as a soon as I get into the country.

You do have to be married :) You can get married very soon after entering. Hubby entered June 4th, June 11th we were at city hall and took us a month to get together all the papers for AOS

Marry quickly and file. We had it in the mail on his 9th day in the country. Get your fiance to start filling out the forms now.

Now theoretically, you could file for EAD separately as a K1. That separate way is not free. Around $400 fee. It would only allow you to work until your 90 days entry ran out. It takes 90 days to get it. No brainer that it would be foolish to spend that much money to get something that would be expired when it arrived. If you got lucky you might get it in 70 days which would let you work 20 days before your authorization expired and you would have to quit.

When you file with AOS, it's free and doesn't expire for a year.
